Sly-- A Whole New Thing Sly's debut. I saw this in the Wrecka Stow.
None of the songs are on the Greatest Hits. The other early records are represented, why not this one? Is it not worthy? Check this song out at:

I think it's awsome!
Totally ahead of it's time.Definitly worthy the albumtitle. It's the joyful & energetic Sly & the Family Stone. The album opener "Underdog" is a killertrack. Also U have the funky & often sampled "Take my advice". Really really good album! /peace Manki

My favorite track is "Trip To Your Heart" which was famously
sampled by LL Cool J on "Mama Said Knock You Out". crazy stuff.

![]() ![]() Man, Sly's voice sounded so different then. I think he was just trying to imitate other Soul singers of that time. [Edited 5/6/05 17:16pm] NEW WAVE FOREVER: SLAVE TO THE WAVE FROM THE CRADLE TO THE GRAVE.

I couldn't imagine it's bad, it's just strange that there's no songs from it on the greatest hits since it looks like they used some of the same artwork.
They had it for $7.95, i should've just bought it, but I bought Life for $8.95 instead. I was looking for Riot, though, which they didn't have. Check this song out at:

They did'nt hit the charts until "Dance to the music" in '68. On compilations they just take the chart tracks. Still "A whole new thing" got some really great stuff on it. /peace Manki
