Youssou N'Dour's Joko is a MUST

Has anyone heard the glorious album by Youssou N'Dour called "Joko"? It came out a few years ago, and it's really worth checking out...especially the import version if you can find it. 4 those who don't know, Youssou N'Dour is an artist from Senegal, West Africa who pretty much pioneered a new style of music called Mbalax. His music is VERY rhythmic and soulful, and he has THE BEST VOICE IN THE WORLD. Youssou's a giant superstar worldwide, and I think he had a few hits in the US with "Shaking the Tree" and "7 Seconds" with Nenah Cherry. Check him out....

He is one of my favorite African artists. I became familiar w/him after Youssou did dueted with Peter Gabriel in the song In Your Eyes. I have a vast collection of all his albums. I would recommend his CD's to anyone who truly loves great vocals and wonderful music.

Hotlegs, have u heard his album Immigres? It is a more raw recording than his later stuff, and it's jamming.

Didn't he have another song with Nenah? I love "7 seconds". I thought I had another. I didn't like it as much. I found the files somewhere and meant to follow up. Never got around to it. Perhaps I'll pick the CD up.

He's also got a bangin' new DVD out of his annual concert in Paris. I've seen him in concert many times, and it's a treat. On this DVD he sings with Rokia Traore from Mali, West Africa.
