I'll have to say "Rust Never Sleeps". Neil kind of shows his acoustic side and gets his "singer-songwriter" thing on, then cranks up his amps and wails on his guitar for the 2nd half. I wasn't a huge Neil Young fan, but I always respected him for doing his own thing...plus he played in the Mynah Birds with Rick James, so he's got cool points with me. (lol)

My faves are "Rust Never Sleeps," "Freedom," "Tonight's the Night," and "Time Fades Away" (out of print, but should be on CD sometime!) To me those have all the best sides of Neil--grungy-hard, bluesy, folksy and druggy--all rolled in a single listen. [Edited 5/4/05 15:41pm]

I couldn't agree with you more. Neil definitely wins cool points w/me for being able to roll w/Funkster Slick Rick. Well, I would have to say my all time favorite album would have to be Harvest from the 70's.

ZUMA. It's just perfect in every way. It's the ultimate "comfort music" to me. In fact, I think I will play it right now

Any of the 70's stuff particularly American Stars & Bars & Zuma. If you wanna get higher, ya gotta get DEEP!

Old Ways - posibbly his best (and one of his least known) albums.
After that : Trans Ragged Glory (with Crazy Horse) Arc-Weld. pure classics and far better than the popular Goldrush / Harvest / Moon / Rust stuff. Lemmy, Bowie, Prince, Leonard. RIP.
