Eminem 2 V.P.'s Wife, "Fuck U!" Hate him? Love him? Either way, he ain't going anywhere... and come June 4th, he'll be everywhere! Just thought I'd share this bit of juice with ya... peace.
----- Eminem Raps U.S. Vice President's Wife Tue May 14, 9:01 PM ET By Steve Gorman LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - Bad-boy rap artist Eminem (news - web sites) has lobbed a four-letter word at Vice President Dick Cheney (news - web sites)'s wife on his upcoming album, but the second lady is hardly running away to a secure, undisclosed location. The Detroit-based recording star, a favorite target of Lynne Cheney in her criticism of the recording industry, unleashes the offensive word against her on the "White America" track to his soon-to-be released LP, "The Eminem Show." She fired back through her spokeswoman, again condemning his lyrics as a "glorification of violence" against women and homosexuals. Eminem, whose real name is Marshall Bruce Mathers III, won three Grammys (news - web sites) last year for his last album despite criticism from women's groups and gay activists who condemned his lyrics as violently misogynist and homophobic. On one single off that album, he raps about killing his pregnant wife. The new album, his third major-label release, is due out June 4 from Interscope Records, a unit of Vivendi Universal . The album's first single, "Without Me," is currently getting strong airplay on the radio and stands at No. 20 on the latest Hot 100 chart. But the yet-to-be-released track "White America" is drawing headlines. In it, Eminem declares: "F--- you, Miss Cheney! ... with the freeness of speech this Divided States of Embarrassment will allow you to have." The lyrics came to light in a report by Internet gossip columnist Matt Drudge. The song, written and recorded by Eminem in June 2001, "addresses personal attacks against him, his music and his right to artistic expression," an Interscope spokesman said. "He is reacting to testimony before Congress in September 2000 in which his lyrics were condemned and his right to free speech questioned," the spokesman added. Natalie Rule, a spokeswoman for the vice president's wife, said Mrs. Cheney had "no response to the personal attacks, but she sees this as a larger issue -- mainly Mr. Mather's repeated glorification of violence against women and gay people." Rule added: "That deserves to be widely condemned." Mrs. Cheney, a leading critic of violent lyrics in songs promoted by the recording industry, singled out Eminem in congressional testimony in 2000, months before her husband was elected vice president, and in numerous media interviews since then. She is not the first vice president's wife to be name-checked in a rap song. Rapper Ice-T's hard-rock band Body Count made a vulgar reference to Tipper Gore's nieces in the 1992 song "KKK Bitch." Eminem himself mentions former first lady Hillary Rodham Clinton (news - web sites) on the "Role Model" track to his first album. ----- Fuckin'A.... Free speech and all...I say tell it like it is, I don't care who u r...u ain't above a good verbal slap in the face! |

Gotta give it up to Eminem for causing some good old controversy. I may not agree with him, but I can't stop listening or watching. That's what rock stars used to do, make you think and be bigger than life. Say what you will, but Eminem has star power and I think some talent too. Again, I don't agree with alot of his lyrics, but I didn't agree with Axl Rose either all the time, but at least he was entertaining too. Ya know what I'm sayin? ______________________________________________

Emenim needs to ask Ice-T about that suspicious Ice Cream Truck that was constantly parked outside of his house during The "Cop Killer" days.... | |

Yeah, this doesn't really bother me- but....
should we really be supporting him when he raps about killing his pregnant wife? Yeah, I guess the only thing more offensive than that is when Prince talks about God. lol. | |

arent there better things that Eminem can be doing with his time? Like working at a Jamba Juice or something...
Damn, when is this guys 15 minutes of fame gonna be up? With Lauryn Hill's album flopping (someone who deserves the media attention), hopefully his time with the media will be up too..... | |

Actually,Lauryn's album is doing great. It debuts at Number 3 on the Billboard chart, selling more than 122,000 copies its' first week. That's not bad for a live album without a major hit single and with very little promotion. | |

To quote Variety Magazine:
Lauryn Hill bowed in third place with the double CD "MTV Unplugged No. 2.0" (Columbia), selling more than 122,000 copies. Hill set the bar high when her groundbreaking 1998 solo debut "The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill" sold nearly half a million units out of the gate; "Unplugged" is her first record of new material since that release.
I'd say that's pretty impressive...and like DavidEye said, without a single pushing it... and it's all new material sung live acoustically. However, and DavidEye, correct me if I'm wrong (like I have 2 ask!!), but isn't a double c.d. counted as 2 sales? So by that logic, would'nt she really have sold only 61,000 copies? Just a thought. Also, Musiq debuted at No.1 with the new disc "Juslisen" selling more than 260,000 copies...WOW...avoided the "sophmore jinx"! While that in itself is impressive...twenty bucks says Eminem's release on June 4 will also debut at the top and with much bigger sales. Listen up folks...it's shock value...it sells. Remember when Prince sold the shit out of records? He was "shocking" back in the day... the trend continues 2 this day! Speakin' of Ice-T, Cop Killer did'nt even sell well until the police made a stink of the cut on the album...then it went crazy and got Ice-T the cover of Rolling Stone (dressed as a cop, no less). So, fall asleep if u wanna Supernova, just know that I won't b buying the latest Eminem! I will ,however, download the fuck out of it...frankly, I like his Dr. Dre ass-kissin' shit... So shoot me.
