Alanis Acoustic Tour!

I just got my tickets and I'm really looking forward to this. Anybody else going or already been to her shows in Europe? I love her website... www.alanis.com

From mtv news: http://www.mtv.com/news/a...lines=true

She's already been naked in a video, but this summer Alanis Morissette will hit the stage musically exposed for her first-ever acoustic tour. The six-week outing will promote the June 13 re-release of her breakthrough 1995 album, Jagged Little Pill, which is being reissued with a newly recorded acoustic version.

The 27-date tour is slated to kick off on June 7 in Toronto and wrap up on July 17 in Costa Mesa, California. The new version of Jagged Little Pill will be sold only at Starbucks for the first six weeks.

The singer will be backed by her current touring band, and she is having a blast performing fresh versions of her hits. "I am having so much fun playing these newly interpreted songs," Morissette said in a statement from her current European tour. "I notice that different layers of emotions emerge with these songs being broken down and revisited. I can't wait to tip my hat to this record in a way that also references the present and the future."

Morissette re-teamed with Jagged producer Glen Ballard to record the acoustic versions, marking the first time the two have worked together since 1998's Supposed Former Infatuation Junkie. The acoustic album features interpretations of such signature hits as "Hand in My Pocket," "You Oughta Know" and "Ironic," as well as the hidden track "Your House." The anniversary edition will also feature footage from 1995 and additional bonus material.

Alanis Morissette's Jagged Little Pill (Acoustic) tour dates, according to a spokesperson:

I do NOT have enough eyes to ROLL at this whole thing. Talk about rehash, regurgitated for mass consumer use.

I sorta like Alanis...don't get me wrong...but does anyone else see this as a complete rip off?

Yeah, and I'm ignoring the fact that it's being sold exclusively at Starfucks...

i did not know about the exclusively at starbucks thing. too sad. i was thisclose to willing to forgive the whole excuse of the 10th anniversary thing (i mean, really, "wow, its been 10 years since i released my most popular records. i think i'll re-record it acousticly and hope to make more money off of the same material since nobody cares about what i'm doing now.") but now that i see its being sold through starbucks...what a joke. the lengths people will go to for a dollar. i say forego the attempt at economic success and keep some of your dignity by releasing new music, regardless of whether or not you have a hit.

in regard to the tour, though, i thought about going. i like alanis's music and i've enjoyed her live shows before. when i clicked on ticketmaster to see what seats were available i decided this tour is not for me. 60 bucks is too much for balcony seats to a concert i may have seen already...10 years ago.

but, vinablue, have an awesome time at the show! smile sometimes i'm such an asshole...just tell me to shut the fuck up! i'm not trying to piss on your fruit loops. i just got annoyed at the ticket prices. i'm sure the show will be a blast since she is such a good performer!

Mark it down in the books. This is the first time I agree with you.

I am really starting to think that as "arty" as she seems, her career seems totally beyond her control. The forced second album is a testament to that...and now this...along with Starbucks.

And how is this going to be different than ...this...

Alanis Unplugged [LIVE]

1. You Learn
2. Joining You
3. No Pressure Over Cappuccino
4. That I Would Be Good
5. Head Over Feet
6. Princes Familiar
7. I Was Hoping
8. Ironic
9. These R The Thoughts
10. King Of Pain
11. You Oughta Know
12. Uninvited

She said they're going to play all of Jagged Little Pill, with some extra songs thrown in. Plus, she mentions that the songs are "newly interpreted". I see this going along the same lines as Bjork/Family Tree/Strings and Tori/live solo/piano. I need to find some reviews of the European shows that are going on to feed my curiosity.

No worries! She is great, although last time I saw her I was kinda disapointed. I wasn't too into the guitar heavy ambiance. The best show I saw her do was with Tori on the 5-1/2 Weeks tour. A-MA-ZING. I'm really looking forward to the acoustic show!

Well I saw her live in concert tonight on her Diamond Wink Tour and it was not an acoustic concert, but a greatest hits show...

do you know whats funny about him. he was on Surreal Life & was pissed when that New Kids on the Block dude was saying the Olson Twins were hot.

Dave was over 30 when he dated Alanis Morissette when she was 18.

Jordon Knight is over 30.

Oh how they forget how THEY were at their age eek lol
