It's from The Ultimate Collection boxset. You should download it. It is one of his strongest vocal performances for a long time...

I love the bit where he screams "we're innnnnocently standing by..."

Tucked away on a boxset. What a shame more people haven't heard this track. 2004 track too. Even though the lyrics don't pertain to be about the arrest and the then upcoming trial, (the versus are about violence, the war on terror and Iraq) you can still tell. You can feel the venom, the anger, the grief and despair of it all. Dramatic and brilliant. Fantastic vocals throughout.

We've Had Enough

Love was taken from a young live
And no one told her why

Her direction has a dimlight
From one more violent crime
She innocently questioned why
Why her father had to die

She asked the men in blue
How is it that you get to choose
Who will live and who will die
Did god told you you could decide ?

You saw he didn't run
And that my daddy had no gun

In the middle of the village
Within a distant land
Lies a cool boy with his broken toy
To young to understand

He's awaken, ground is shaking
His father grabs his hand
Screaming crying, his wife's dying
Now he's left to explain

He innocently questioned why
Why his mother had to die
Why did these soldiers come here for ?
If they're for peace why is there war ?

Did god say that they could decide
Who will live and who will die ?
All my mama ever did
Was try to take care of her kids

We're innocently standing by
Watching people losing lives
It seem as if we have no voice
It's time for us to make a choice

Only god could decide
Who will live and who will die
There's nothing that can't be done
If we raise our voice as one

Did god hear it from me ?
Did god hear it from you ?
Did god hear it from us ?

We can't take it
We've already had enough

Did god hear it from me ?
Did god hear it from you ?
Did god hear it from us ?

We can't take it
We've already had enough

Thank god I care for me
Thank god I care for you
Thank god it came from you babe

We can't take it
We've already had enough

Deep in my soul baby

Deep in your soul and by your side

Deep in my soul

It's so big and i'm still alive

Did god hear it from us ?

We can't take it
We've already had enough

It's going down baby
Just let god decide,

It's going on baby
Just let god decide

Deep in my soul baby

We've already had enough

My twocents

Ugh! why do people insist on spelling 'losing' as 'loosing'? edit.

This is the kind of passion that was missing from Invincible.

I hope that it's a sign of things to come....

I might enjoy Prince´s music more, but I prefer MJ´s voice. I LOOOOOVE HIS voice. And he can sing very high tunes. Just listen to the bridge of Blood on the dancefloor - those background vocals are sooooo high - it´s unbelievable.
"When Michael Jackson is just singing and dancing, you just think this is an astonishing talent. And he has had this astounding talent all his life, but we want him to be floored as well. We really don´t like the idea that he could have it all."

There was a file on the internet a while back that featured MJ doing vocal warm ups,(I guess during the Invincible sessions) and I was shocked to hear him in bass C

I´d love to hear that! Does anyone have it?

No, I'm not just saying it for a reaction.... it's true and you know it!

Although Prince has a more impressive deeper vocal IMO, he simply couldn't sing a lot of the songs that Michael belts out without going into his falsetto.

I was listening to "We've Had Enough" and in the first bridge MJ uses his falsetto and then on the second he belts it out in his regular voice and I just thought "Prince simply COULDN'T sing this."

Although I agree that a technically good singer doesn't always make for a better vocalist... I still think MJ is the stronger of the two.

What d'ya reckon?

Prince has a beautiful and distinct vocal styling. Michael also has a great distinctive, lovely voice. I will never take that away from him despite the freak he's turned into. They both have blessed with great talent, but they are different people. STOP COMPARING THEM IT'S LAME!!!

they are both just as good as what they are supposed to do with their voice.

U cant compare Elvis' voice to Little Richards.

prince couldnt sing a MJ song correctly in my opinion. I would cringe hearing Prince try to wing out some "Lady In My Life" or "I Cant Help It" or "Keep The Faith.
Imagine Prince tryin on "Lady In My Life" boxed

Just as much as I would cring MJ trying some "Scandelous" "Call My Name" (that might actually be good though) " eye Hate U"
Imagine Mike sayin "ima cover yo ass with thsi sheet. And I want u 2 pump yo hips like u used to" falloff

WHEN I THINK OF AN SUPERIOR VOICE, I THINK OF SOMEONE WHO CAN DELIVER A SONG. SOMEONE WHO SINGS WTIH THE FEELING OF A THEM RE-LIVING WHAT THAT IS SONG IS ABOUT. MICHAEL HAS ALWAYS SUNG WITH THAT FEELING FROM THE LOVE YOU SAVE TO BUTTERFLIES. PRINCE ALSO. THEY'RE ON THE SAME LEVEL TO ME. AND YES, I CAN SEE THE BOTH OF THEM SINGING EACH OTHER SONGS BECAUSE MIKE WILL PUT HIS TWIST ON PRINCE'S SONG, LIKE PRINCE WILL PUT A SWIZZLE ON MIKE'S SONG AND THEY WILL BE ON POINT. cool

About "We've Had Enough".. okay, I had Mike's back as far as vocal competition between he and Prince went but I can't stand that song. mad The lyrics are meaningful but almost random, the vocals are annoying and old-hat, and the overall feel of the tune I believe was done better ten years ago in "Earth Song."

nod Earth Song is quite beautiful and is one of his best that he has written in years I must admit. Also, the video is timeless and meaningful. People can say what they want but Micheal really put his heart into that song.

I think that Mike an Prince are one of the few artist who always put their heart into their work. One can actually FEEL what they were trying to say.

In fact, given what we know about Mike nowadays, his back catalog is sounding particularly sinister.

"You Are Not Alone"

"Ben...the two of us need search no more...We have found what we've been looking for..."

"Scream"

"Smooth Criminal"

"Don't Stop Till You Get Enough"

"I Can't Help It"

"Touch the One You Love"

"Give In to Me"

"I Just Can't Stop Loving You"

"Jam" (with the classic video where he jumps on top of Michael Jordan's back!)

and of course...

"Beat It"

Some people tell me I've got great legs...

Picture Mike trying to do Pussy Control, Sexy MF, or My name is Prince. He'd be hard pressed to get that much bass and machismo in his voice. And the song Damn U??? What's MJ gonna do when he has to sing. "....all I'm trying to say is that my psychadelic shouts when U damn me...." ???? Too low for MJ.

The original 'You Can't Win' from The Wiz (not the 12" version). check out the last line, it'll shock you how deep it is. He has a deep register, examples of it are pretty rare though.

2000 watts on Invincible is another, though i wouldn't recommend that song to my worst enemy. Cloudy likes it though. Why? i've no idea! lol

2000 Watts is drowned by studio effects anyway. Unless he can do it live, it doesn't mean too much.

Michael is a trained and gifted vocalist as well as a entertainer. A natural-born frontman. The black community always gave Michael credit for his vocal abilites, but I guess the black community wasn't enough. But that's another subject.

Prince is a musician. He's also a frontman, too. Prince is along the lines of Miles, Bird, Bach and Beethovan.
Prince can write lyrics, create musical arrangements and his a natural groove man. However, Prince's musicianship will NOT allow himself to keep making commercial music as he's always looking for a new sound, style and musicial expression. As listed above, Prince is a musician first.

At one time, they [Mike and Prince] were the most powerful duo in music. Now, imagine if they had combined their musical abilites; joined by Babyface, Kenny & Dallas, Jim & Terry and Puffy. Enough dreaming.

I still like a fire on a rain-y night. cool
