Slightly off-topic, maybe, but have you had a chance to find and check out Roisin Murphy's first two Sequins EP's?

It's my soundtrack to a slightly better spring...

Nope. Who is she again?

I guess 'Kate Bush-The Whole Story' may well be worth purchasing just to give you a flavour of her material, as it is a greatest hits package of sorts. It is the only collection of Kate Bush material I own.

For those who are really into her work, to what extent does '...The Whole Story' paint a good picture of her strengths as an artist?

It paints a picture of her as a commercial artist, as it combines all the hits.

BUT, the full scope is in her album; Kate Bush is an album artist, so to say. Her work often tells a story, even if that story is only known by her. I tend to listen to her albums, instead of just the songs...

Works like The Sensual World and Hounds Of Love are, I think, meant to be heard as an album.

So what are everyone's favorites from this album? I'm really feeling...

Running Up That Hill
Hounds of Love
The Big Sky
Mother Stands For Comfort
Cloudbusting
And Dream of Sheep
Watching You Without Me
Hello Earth

This has a lot of favorites!

Honestly, man, it's one of very few albums of which I absolutely love every track. I think it's brilliant from start to finish. I made up a Kate compilation once over two minidiscs and I had so much trouble selecting what I thought were my very favourites that I just ended up including the whole album. The Ninth Wave half shouldn't be butchered anyway as it's a conceptual piece. Remove one song and the whole thing is ruined.

I'm so glad you're liking this album. But to be honest, I thought you would anyway if you gave it a chance. wink
