one of Jam and Lewis' best productions...

"Your love's....so good...you deserve an Encore (deserves an encore)
your love's....so good....you deserve an Encore"

the 12" extended version is a must-have!

"I'm coming to a show tonight...your show,baby....and I got my ticket right here in my hand"

Man, I love some Cheryl Lynn. She is one diva that does not get her props. In my opinion she has the greatest singing voice, period!Yes, including Aretha, whitney, mariah, etc. Why the hell didn't she have more success as an artist? Is it true she retired from the music industry? What a shame. sad

this song IS the jam, definitely 1 of my favorites.

I love the bassline, (Terry!)
I love the POW of the drum machine handclaps on the 4th beat

& I love the "back & forth" between the lead & background vocals in the chorus of the song..

& I love the "oooh... ah! oooh.. ah!" that comes in near the end of the song.

this is 1 of the 5 best songs Jam & Lewis have produced in their career, in my opinion.
I'll see you tonight..
in ALL MY DREAMS..

Man! I had the hardest time trying to figure out what song that was and who the hell was singing it when I heard it playing between acts at a concert a few years ago. I hadn't heard it in a very long time but remembered it from my youth, and fell in love with it again. Eventually I discovered who it was and the title. I also wasn't surprised when I discovered that it was a "Jam & Lewis" production. I LOVE THIS FUNK JAM!!!

Because, unfortunately, it's still a man's world. People tend to like their ladies all sweet and keep them doing weak ass ballads and nothing else. A lady that can throwdown with some hardcore jams never gets the respect she deserves. Donna Summer is one exception but there aren't too many others like her that have been given that respect.

ok now.

yeah encore is really one of the funkies tunes that ever crawled onto the top O da charts. That was my first finding for my "Jimmy and Terry" search in like 1996 after they did a interview on KMOJ in Minneapolis and played a clip of all their 80's stuff as one mega-mix. It flowed right into "Just The Way U like It"

I wish i still had that recorded tape.

True but her weight could have also been a factor which is a shame because she is so talented. She could blow half of these new artists as well as some older ones away, easily! Donna Summer is cool but she aint no Cheryl "got to be real" Lynn!

nod I agree. The industry probably did give her the shaft b/c of her weight. Remember how they did Vesta, she could her ass off and they forced her to lose weight.

True. They are two different types of ladies. Donna was the first uptempo lady that popped into my head that actually got respect.

I know exactly what you mean concerning weight. Look what they did to Martha Wash. That lady could really get down and Black Box and C & C Music Factory put that little skinny heffer in the video. Too bad Sylvester wasn't around by then to set them straight about Martha. Remember his quote about her and Izora Rhodes being his backup singers...."I didn't want skinny girls that could 'oh' and 'ah'...I wanted big bitches that could wail!". lol Martha won in the end though.

I couldn't believe it when I saw her thin. She looked great. Did she keep it off? Either way, I think she's a lovely lady heavy or thin.

Oops, I had to edit my post. I was thinking of Jennifer Holliday. I didn't know Vesta had lost weight. I never thought she was that large anyway.
