OKAY Y'ALL THE RELEASE DATE IS MAY 10.

I went to Best Buy and talked to the woman who stocks shit. At first she just told me she didn't get any Stevie CDs in, but I needed to know more. I got her to go to the computer and indeed they did not have any in stock (hidden or whatever) and I was like, look up the release date.

I saw on Best Buy's computer with my own 's. And it wasn't something like 10-05-05 or anything confusing.

Release Date May 10!!!

Just to put it all to rest, I went to a big ole chain Media Play and right on the door was the warning, with Stevie's album cover posted on there! So that pretty much says it all...don't bothering going anywhere, it as waste of time!

However, Media Play did have many of Stevie's albums nearly half price...regular $12.99 priced at $6.99. They only markers for a number of them but I'm pretty sure that anything priced $12.99 will scan $6.99. So I picked up "Characters" (just for "My Eyes Don't Cry") and "Signed, Sealed, Delivered" (just for the hell of it). So it turns out that "A Time For Love" was not my first Stevie album, but I finally started my collection. I put "Characters" in my CD player...very guilty pleasure synth pop! Haven't listened to "Singed..." at all but since I can't meet my new cooperating teacher as I planned on Thursday, I'm going to sink into it then. And yes, I would have bought "Songs In the Key..." but it wa...$27.99....Dang!

You know, this reminds me of how Stevie delayed Songs In The Key Of Life back in '76. I am very angry!!!

latest date I've been told is June 21 (still don't have any hopes)...

Indeed. I almost feel bad by those Stevie CDs because I basically am giving money to Motown, who screwed over fans. I'm sure I'm not the only one who walked in there expecting to buy the new CD to take the constillation prize of some old ones. I give credit to Media Play and anyone else that told people up front that it would be delayed. They obiviously recognize the man is still important.

What's sad is that....Stevie would get ALOT more respect if he were a dirty-talking,thugged-out gangsta rapper with an album filled with samples,cussing,and cameos from losers like 50 Cent and The Game.I bet the album would have NO trouble getting released.

I heard that Stevie really pissed off Motown by constantly delaying that album over and over,lol.They kept scheduling,and then abruptly cancelling,release dates.They originally wanted the album to be released in late 1975,but Stevie is such a perfectionist and he wanted it to be his ultimate artistic statement.He kept working on it,and finally it was released in September 1976.But it was well worth the wait!

Same here! Man,I miss the old days when you could just go to your local record store and buy a 45" single.Then,a few weeks later,the album would be out.
