STEVIE WONDER new CD pushed back again!! I just finished talking to someone about this, and I cant beleive this record is being pushed back again WITH NO NEW DATE in sight. When I asked the reason they told me that the LABEL decided they are worried about Stevie's relevance to the consumer and also they were worried about units to be sold!!!
This is why I hate this industry, its all about Units sold and Bottom Line, the artists are basically dead. Time for every REAL ARTIST to quit their label and put out their own shit to their own fans. If this really turns out to be true, fuck them. As it is, rumours about its'
delay appear to be as vague as rumours about its' release. [Edited 4/21/05 16:58pm]

I heard this too but not that it won't be released, just thgat it was delayed.
How could that be with such a strong first single? It seems with the public performances and the money invested into starting the machine the album will come out and he'll tour to sold-out audiences around the world. then again, what the hell do I know

That's usually a sign the album blows. The world is a comedy for those who think and a tragedy for those who feel.

We'll see!! But I've heard several songs from the cd and I believe Stevie has a critical and commercial hit on his hands. Of course, art is subjective. Hopefully Stevie and the label can get on the same page. Also, I think the reason for the delay is that Stevie hasn't given them the finished product yet. He is a perfectionist and is known for TAKING HIS TIME until he feels the product is ready.

Motown is a screwed-up label these days. They don't know what to do with their current roster. That's why Remy Shand's career is suffering.Hopefully,he will get out of there.
The only thing Motown is capable of is releasing compilations of their old music. They should just become an oldies reissue label.

Fuck Motown! That label can kiss my ass! All Motown is now is a label of reissues and compilation CD's! Not to mention, they are pimping the legacy of Marvin Gaye with all these bullshit live CD's that were below par.
Fuck Motown! I piss on Motown! (and Brian McKnight's trifling ass!) "haters wanna hate/lovers wanna love/I don't even want/none of the above/I want to piss on you/yes I do/I wanna pee you..."

Another thing I hate about Motown....they keep releasing numerous compilations that have the SAME songs over and over and over. But yet, they never seem to reissue the actual albums! For example, you can easily find a Rick James or Commodores "Greatest Hits" CD,but you will NOT find most of the classic albums by these artists.I guess now that Rick is dead, they'll finally get around to remastering his old albums Fuck Motown!

Exactly. It's a shame that,if I wanna hear an album like 'Fire It Up' and 'Throwin Down',I have to rely on my old vinyl records.Motown has done a shitty job with Rick's catalog. And now they're showing the same disrespect to Stevie Wonder, who is arguably their most important artist of all time.

I doubt his followup is ready. His 2002 album had shit from 1998 on it, and that was when he WASNT touring, WASNT married, etc.

This may have already been posted - apologies if so - but in yesterday's Sunday Times (UK) there was a free DVD with, amongst other things, samples of Stevie's new album!
Firstly, I was nearly in tears listening to the tracks and hearing Stevie's beautiful vocals. Ten years we've all had to wait for this album. Ten whole years. And yet, somehow, it's like he's never been away. Man, that voice. Secondly, I WISH I'd made a note of which songs they were but - at last! - I've heard 'What's The Fuss' , another was called 'How Will I Know - a beautiful, smokey lounge ballad, similar to 'Make Sure You're Sure' - and another called 'Positivity'. (Which was so-so). There was also a full page advert for the album in the Observer Music Monthly. So... fingers crossed, it looks like it's on its' way.

I'm at work at the moment so, unless someone else posts the tracklist, I'll do it tomorrow. I absolutely LOVED the second song (reminded me a bit life 'Treat Myself', one of my favourites from 'Conversation Peace').

Stevie Or Kate? or both? Imagine that. I was thinking yesterday: 2005 could very well be an AMAZING year for me, music-wise. There's bound to be a new Prince album, I'm hoping Bowie will come up with the goods, Kate's has been heavily, heavily rumoured and Stevie's is (supposedly) just around the corner. All that and the prospect of a Prince Euro tour

I've just visited a few Stevie Wonder fansites, and interestingly, there are different tracklists that are being mentioned. This is the most common tracklist, which was also posted here on this site....
"If The Creek Don't Rise" "A Time To Love" "Forever Is How Long" "What The Fuss" "I Can't Imagine Love Without You" "How Will I Know" "If Your Love Cannot Be Moved" "Moon Blue" "The Future" "Giant Steps" "Sunshine" "Tears" "The Well" "Songs Of My Father" and here is another tracklist that I found... "What The Fuss" "Moon Blue" "If The Creek Don't Rise" "How Will I Know" "Shelter From The Rain" "From The Bottom Of My Heart" "I Can't Imagine Love Without You" "True Love" "Positivity" "Only You" "Keep Fooling Yourself" "Sweetest Somebody I Know" "Passionate Raindrops" "If Your Love Cannot Be Moved" "The Well" "A Time To Love" the first tracklist looks like the real thing, but I've noticed that at least one song from the second tracklist ("Positivity")appears on a pre-release "sampler" promo CD In any case,it looks like Stevie has recorded enough songs for a double CD! Wouldn't that be cool....a "Sitkol" for the 2000s? I've also heard of another new song called "Truth Is The Light Of The World".

If it is one CD, it will probably be way longer than 2 sides of SITKOL.

So... out of curiosity's sake... is there an estimated release date, even a likely month?
