Which Rock Bio-flicks Are You Looking Forward Into Being Created?

I am still waiting for a director making a 3-hour epic bio-flick of Marvin Gaye's life. It would really be a nice to see the Divided Soul biography on the big screen.

I'm also also looking for a Miles Davis flick to be created.

What are some of the bio-flicks are you looking forward to be created?

Miles Davis - A movie on Miles Davis was supposed to hit the screen back in the early 90's. Wesley Snipes was picked for the role but the plans fell through. He was really excited to play him. Wesley was also rumoured to play Otis Redding in his life story back in 97/98, but that fell through too. Miles' life would make a great movie.

Marvin Gaye - Marvin's widow (Jan) said in 1994 a script was being written and she wanted Denzel Washington to play him. Jesse L. Powell from "Law And Order" said he would love to play Marvin (and he's an excelllent choice). Usher wants to play him him also, but I think folks would see him and think "Usher" rather than "Marvin".

Little Richard - A big screen version of his life has been in the works also since the late 80's. Eddie Murphy said back in a 1988 Playboy interview that he was asked to play the role, and he said he would have been into it until he read the auto-bio on Little Richard. Eddie said: "That is a scary fucking book..Little Richard said he had sex with a man who's penis was so big he felt like he was giving birth". He also went on to say he didn't want to cover the "homosexual side" of Little Richard onscreen (lol). Morris Day and Prince were interested in the roles also, but I think they should get a unknown to play Little Richard.

Jimi Hendrix - I have a feeling this movie is never going to be made. There was talk going back 1982 that this movie was going to be made from everyone from Charlie Wilson (Gap Band), Eddie Murphy, Jeffrey Wright (Shaft, Boycott), Q-Tip, and as we all know, Andre 3000. The estate won't give up the rights to the music. The Hughes Bros (Dead Presidents) said they've been working on this movie idea since 1994, but Janie Hendrix will not let the music go. Will it ever happen?..Who knows (no pun intended).

Janis Joplin - I wasn't a huge fan, but the movie does sound interesting. Melissa Ethridge would have been perfect, but if Renee Zellweger is going to do it, it may pull in more ticketholders.

Motley Crue - After reading "The Dirt", they HAVE to make this movie! Rumour has it that Nikki Sixx wants Johnny Knoxville (Jackass) to play him (lol).

If there is a God Usher will never be allowed to portray Marvin Gaye in a movie.

Eddie Murphy was also interested in playing Otis Redding onscreen.

I really hope the Little Richard movie gets made. There was a TV movie with Leon but it's kind of cheesy.

I didn't know all of this.
Usher - Marvin. That would suck. Even if he could act. Denzel is all wrong too. Don't know the Jesse guy.

Hendrix - I really like Charlie Wilson but can he act? Murphy is a joke for this. Jeffrey Wright is a great actor and though I wouldn't think of him, he has a way of morphing into whatever character he has to play. Guess there's no point in this, though. Doesn't look as if it's gonna be made.

Janis- Didn't Bette already do this?

Forgot to add my pick.
Dylan would be great. The backdrop of the time and more insight into that mind. That would be cool.

I remember when HBO made a made-for-TV miniseries called "Hendrix" with Wood Harris in the flick. It was kind of horrible too. I can't believe it's on DVD now.
