I heard it and wasn't feelin it. Typically, you expect more from Q-tip and the Neptunes got him sound like the rest of the shit on the radio. Hopefully, the rest of the album is on point.

ah hell no.. not another Neptunes produced album..
They should release Kamaal the abstract instead. That's just one great album and now Q-tip has to go all commercial to get his album released or what? And I gotta say that I've lost respect for Busta since that bullshit song he did with Mariah Carey.

Why is Q-Tip stuck in industry hell this decade?

this is some bullshit. "open" would've
been the shit. tracks like "compute", "official" and "scram jones" are fire! now we get this from tip. too bad he can't release the music he wants to make. still dying to hear that d'angelo jawn that was supposed to be on the "open" album. don't need no reefer, don't need cocaine
purple music does the same to my brain i'm high, so high

Yeah, I downloaded it a month ago - it's just ok. Q-Tip sounds best rapping over neo-soul/jazz type beats - like something Rafeal Sadiq might produce or a Common Sense, Mos Def, etc.

Damn -- what happened to Open? There were some great tracks on that project. "Official" was absolutely incredible -- one of my favorite new joints last year.

the project tip's been working on since early 2000 -after "kamaal the abstract"- which also has been shelved. read more about that project here: http://www.findarticles.c..._113749570 three songs from the album have been played on radio--"compute", "official" and "scram jones". the album was to feature guests such as mary j. blige and d'angelo. don't need no reefer, don't need cocaine

It's below standard I'm kinda getting sick of Busta Rhymes too ..... since like, forever "..My work is personal, I'm a working person, I put in work, I work with purpose.."

That doesnt mean that the Neptunes suck!

It's just that this particular track that Pharrel produced for Q-tip isn't cutting it at all period.
