REVOLVER SURVIVOR ROUND 7 IS NOW CLOSED This round was a close one. Got To Get You Into My Life pulled in two votes, Elenor Rigby was voted for once. The real race was between She Said She Said and Taxman. Needless to say one of them managed to gain the advantage and cut ahead in the execution line and the winner (loser) is
She Said She Said So let's continue, shan't we. SURELY it's plain to everyone now that Taxman - good song though it is - is now waaaaay out of its depth. It's competing with giants here.

Taxman got 2 go! As much as I LOVE George (BTW, ALL OF YOU SHOULD OWN "ALL THINGS MUST PASS"), the rest of these tracks are mindblowing. Occupy Alphabet Street!

I must note. I think Elenor Rigby is one of the most important songs in the last 50 years.
I also believe Paul McCartney wrote the song, while John perhaps helped out on a few lines, but the melody and body frame is pauls.. congrats paul.

John once said of the song that it was "Paul's baby, and I helped with the education of the child." I think it's mostly, if not entirely a paul song. In any case, I can't decide what to vote for but I'm definitely chagrinned that Taxman's getting so many votes so far. I think it's a good candidate for the best thing on the album, it was the Beatles hardest rocking tune up to that point and is possibly their funkiest tune ever.

Got to Get You Into My Life
Taxman should stay solely for the "If you take a walk I'll tax your feet" line

It's just hard 4 me 2 justify cutting loose "Got To Get You Into My Life" simply Because McCartney's vocals are SO DAMN GOOD! He really sings the crap out of that song. That, and Earth Wind and Fire did a cool version of it, too. Occupy Alphabet Street!

this has a stunningly gorgeous, wandering melody. take that back! It's not one of Paul's best ballads - it's not even his best one on this album (that goes to For No One, of course...) - but it's still pretty fuckin' good.

My vote goes to Got To Get You Into My Life, even though it won't do any good. This round lasted way longer than I intended, my apologies, in any case voting is finally closed
