Hey! any Dobbie Bros fans here

Another 70's group that were Badd In their hey day they had hit after hit. When Michael Mcdonald joined the group their sound change to more R&B which was ok but I like their pop/rock sound more, I know some of the orginal members left because they didn't like the direction Michael was taking the group. Here are some of my favorites

China grove

Long train running

Listen to the music

Black water

Jesus is alright with me

It keep's you runnin

What a fool believes

Minute by Minute

Real love

the DOOBIES.. oh HELL YES!

& even COOLER, lovedad43..

I dig EVERY song you mentioned,

PLUS of course

Takin' It To The Street - maybe their best known song..
"you - tellin' me the things you're gonna do for me
I ain't blind & I don't like what I think I see"

One By One

I'm Here To Love You

if I had to 1 song from the Doobies, it might be MINUTE BY MINUTE.
Michael McDonald nails that vocal - especially the bridge :
"call my name & I'll be gone
you reach out & I won't be there
just my luck you'll realize
you could spend your life with someone.."

very soulful.

I also love IT KEEPS YOU RUNNIN.. I love the clavinet "layering"..

& I love the "down home" sound of BLACK WATER
"I like to hear some FUNKY Dixieland pretty momma come & take me by the hand.."

LONG TRAIN RUNNING has a sort of.. urgency to it..
great guitar & bass & percussion

those boys could DO it.
then Michael took them to another level - definitely more "pop" & more "soulful"
but how many bands could go through such a "radical change" but still be successful???

yeah.. the DOOBIES are rock & roll
I'll see you tonight..
in ALL MY DREAMS..

nod This is one of the coolest groups from the 70's and 80's that everybody dug including George Clinton. He even mentioned them in one of his songs w/P-Funk.

But I love the Doobie's....."Long Train Running" is my favorite... cool

The part that was funny was when Rerun was dancing and the tape recorder fell out onto the floor. Eveybody, including the Doobie's stopped playing and looked at Rerun. That's one of those airline commercial moments "Wanna get away?".
