Guard alleges assault, sues rocker Manson

DETROIT -- Brian Warner, who cavorts as shock rocker Marilyn Manson, now faces a federal civil lawsuit by a security guard who claims the performer assaulted him during a concert last summer at the DTE Energy Music Theatre near Clarkston, Mich.

In his suit, Joshua Keasler, who was guarding the stage during the performance, claims Manson grabbed him, wrapped his legs around his neck and ground his sweaty, G-stringed groin on his head and neck.

Keasler, 26, has suffered emotional problems and ridicule and worries about potential diseases because he was exposed to Manson's bodily fluids during the alleged assault, said his lawyer, John Nickola, who filed the suit Tuesday in U.S. District Court in Detroit.

"This was a vicious sexual assault witnessed by 20,000-some people," Nickola said. "He's a fine man, a father trying to make a living and do the right things," he said of Keasler. "And because this so-called character called Marilyn Manson has some sort of notoriety, or what he thinks is success, he thinks he can perpetrate these kinds of acts on people."

Manson's lawyer, Walter Piszczatowski, was out of town Tuesday and couldn't be reached. Piszczatowski has argued that the act was in poor taste, but was merely Manson showmanship with no sexual intent.

Keasler's suit alleges assault and battery, intentional infliction of emotional distress, gross negligence and wanton misconduct. The suit seeks more than $75,000 in damages. The case was assigned to Judge Paul Borman in Detroit.

The suit comes while a criminal charge stemming from the incident is unresolved.

Oakland County prosecutors initially charged Manson with fourth-degree criminal sexual conduct. But Clarkston District Court Judge Gerald McNally reduced the charge to disorderly conduct, a misdemeanor.

Prosecutors asked McNally to remove himself from the case, but he refused.

A hearing set for today in the criminal charge was adjourned Tuesday because Rochester District Court Judge Julie Nicholson has yet to decide on the Prosecutor's Office request that she remove McNally from the case, said assistant prosecutor Kenneth Frazee.

It is old news in the sense that the event happened almost a year ago.

That security guard is obviously just trying to make a buck. I saw the picture of him when Manson was doing this, and that fat bastard had quite the grin on his face. How much of a pussy does a man have to be to be whining about such a thing?

If you don't like it, step away. It takes a split second to step out of the way when you feel an unwelcomed object on the back of your head. He must have stood still long enough for Manson's fluids to seep into his skin. Maybe he's suing cuz he secretly enjoyed it and is now trying to save face.

We all need to find our own avenue of expression. People hate Manson because he challenges traditional beliefs and is not about trying to make everyone happy. He is who he is, take it or leave it. At least he's honest and not a poser.

EWM: How do you figure that? I think it would actually be cool if Prince did it. It would be a nice change of pace for him to do something a little crazy instead of just getting old and boring.

I find it amusing thsat people like him cuz he "pushes peoples buttons", what buttons? How exactly does he make you"Think"?? Its easy to be sensationalist and gain attention for looking like he does but I cant see anything good coming out of him or his music. He is sick.

Actually I'd love it cuz it would give me the opportunity to punch them right in the balls. And I sure as hell wouldn't file a stupid lawsuit. I'd deal with it my own way.

If that security moron didn't like Manson to do what he did, he should have stepped out of the way and kept his distance, but instead he stood there and let it happen long enough.

Besides you dont need to read his book to have an opnion, I think he pretty much presents himself very explicitly.
