ANY HOUSE HEADS OUT THERE?

I just bought DANCE RITUAL - LOUIE VEGA. IT IS SOOOOO GREAT!!!!! I bought it because I finally found out the name of my new fave song. It's called The Hearts A Lonely Hunter by David Byrne(Talking Heads) remixed by Louie Vega. I ended up buying the entire cd. It's incredible. That is if you like the kind of house music I like. Jazzy, soulful, latin beats.

I think so but maybe I'm a "Freestyle Freak" instead? I think I lean more towards freestyle.

Same here. I got into lots of house in the late 1980s and early 1990s but it's too techno now.

There is some really good soulful house out right now. A lot of people here the word House and think Techno. There are so many different types. I like real jazzy house, gospel house, soulful, garage. There's a lot of great house with latin beats. Not to be confused with Latin house which tends to be really hard. I don't like it. French house is really really good right now.

I got some hiphouse.

Well c and c music factory does count right?

Mr lee, he was ture hiphouse

There is a superb David Morales and Cathy Dennis track off the Turltes 2 soundtrack called "find the key to your heart". It is everything hiphouse should be. Keyboard dominated, uplifting and funky.

Check the c and c remix of jacko's "black or white". Seriously good house remix

Buzzin Fly Vol. 1 & 2 are great. These are mixes from Ben Watt. He was part of Lazy Dog. Those 2 volumes are also crazy. Lazy Dog vol 1 & 2. They're older but beautiful.

Good shout miguelgomez. Yeah the Louie Vega 'Dance Ritual' album is fantastic & Id recommend it to anyone who likes soul music.

IF you like the Dance Ritual then you should get 'Danny Krivit In The House' which has just come out in the UK on Defected Records. Similar vibe & tracks to Dance Ritual. Danny Krivit is one of the best DJ's & Re'Editers for soul & funk house.

People that say that house is now too techno must be going to the wrong clubs & listening to bullshit in the charts that is passed off as house & techno.
Dig deeper & you will find some seriously soul drenched music being made & played by the likes of MAW/Louie Vega, Danny Krivit, Timmy Regisford, Blaze, Mr V, Moodymann, Theo Parrish, Ron Trent, DJ Spinna. lol
The Funk, the whole funk & nothin' but the funk, ya dig?!

YEAH, YEAH, YEAH.

You took the words right out of my mouth dude. Please tell me that you actually got to go to LAZYDOG or to UNDERDOG. I'm trying to get out to the U.K. so bad. I've been trying since the 80's.

I have to say this to everyone. House Heads pretty much know this.
I love to go to House clubs because my experience has been that everyone is there to enjoy good music. I've been to house clubs that it really doesn't matter if you're straight or gay. Everyone is there just "Sunday shouting" having a great time. I've met sooo many cool guys and girls going out. I don't go out to dance clubs to try and pick/up. It's hard to explain that feeling you get when you're dancing to house and your favorite song comes on. I don't mean to get too deep but sometimes it's soooo good that you feel like crying. AND I don't do drugs, imagine if I did. I don't think this is a U.S.A. thing only. Does anyone feel me on that feeling you get when the music is f'ing great and you get in that zone.

".....to get deep.....what?.....to get deep.....what?"

No, I am also straight and I love House music. How can you not be a dancer and hate House music unless you don't have a soul.
