Media Play is selling off all their older used CDs for only $.99 (they were $7.99 for the longest time!) and I found both Jody's "Larger Than Life" and "Affairs of the Heart". It seems like all her older discs are available super cheap used (or "new" as cutouts) and two of her latest, "Flowers" and "Saturday Night Experience", can only be found as super expensive imports. Weird how things work out. Anyway, I'm not super impressed with either but I think, so far, "Larger Than Life" is much better ("Affairs" attempt at hip hop beats is innovaitate but doesn't work). I really want to buy her first, "Jody Wately". Any Jody fans out there>?

Funny just last night I was telling a friend that Jodie had a new movie coming out. He looked at me and said, "Jody? Really, she's acting?"
I was like, "Uh, yeah. Jodie's been acting. Oscar and all."
He was like, "Wow, that's great."

I saw the preview for that. I guess she thinks the thrillers work for her since her last movie was "Panic Room" (which I liked). I would like to see a Jody Watley and Jodie Foster comeback this year....maybe they can work together!

It's slightly embrassing but maybe it's an attempt to get on a better label, one that releases singles. Frankly, after her last CD, I say bring on the new stuff, commerically viable or not (hell, dance music, even the classics, aren't selling).

I have that one as well. Didn't knock me out. The only thing by her (other than her hits collections) that really got me was "Midnight Lounge" (so far...I don't have all her albums).

She has a "Remaking"coming up also like Taylor Dayne had.

I've been listening to Midnight Lounge and I think she does well with the downtempo grooves. I don't know what's on the agenda for her next CD but I'm definitely digging her in this genre.
