New Edition Behind the Music

Looks like it's going to premeire tomorrow night on VH1. Now that should be good, with lots of dirt and drama! biggrin

I wonder if Bobbay and Whitnay will be on the show?

I all but gave up on this show. There were so many artists they never got around to, but new episodes just stopped coming. The old timeslot won't work with Desperate Housewives around, that's for sure.

It's a sing of relevance. They story is important (being the only real R&B boy group to last for 20 years).

I believe it was Tuesday morning that Bivens, Ricky & JG were on the Tom Joyner Morning Show & they talked about this Behind The Music episode coming on tonight..

during this interview on the TJMS, the 1 little nugget that I was somewhat surprised to hear was how Ralph was not excited about JG joining the group, supposedly because (again) they would have to "split the money 5 ways"..
if anything, I would have thought Ralph would have been "threatened" by Johnny's singing ability..

I mean, Ralph can sing, he's alright as a singer.. but next to JOHNNY GILL???
ha!

I'm not sure what time it comes on VH-1 on the east coast (I'm in the DC area) but I will do my best to make it home in time to see this..
it should definitely be interesting.
I'll see you tonight..
in ALL MY DREAMS..

I heard this morning about the airing. Since I'm going to miss their concert in May, I will make sure to be home at 9. I want to know more about the guys individual stories, and not just focus on Bobby's screwups and ego. That might be wishful thinking on my part. sigh

On VH1 UK, they only aired a couple. I saw the milli vanilli one for example. That was good.

Were they really "boy groups"? How old were they when they first started out?

Got it. Can u belive my hmv, in uk, did not have it? I ordered it though.

Once again jam and lewis save their best material for NE's album. And their cuts save the album. Some of the uptempo's on here sound like B2K ripoffs, but thats cool.

"newness" "re-write the memories" "best man" "come home with me" "thats why I lied" "hot tonite" are my favs.

Particually "newness", which is easily up their with "still in love with you" and "can you stand the rain". just another 7 year wait now mad confused

No problem. Glad I helped make your day. I really can't wait to see this and hope that it is going to be 2 hours as they have so much history. I really wish Behind the Music would continue to do more stories. They've seriuosly been slacking.

Ricky and Mike were on the Russ Parr Morning Show today and they talked about how they were sort of jealous of Ralph because everyone knew his name but did not know the rest of theirs. They also mentioned how Ralph went through his Michael Jackson phase. They also talked about how they were not happy with how Puffy promoted their latest album and have since parted ways.

I have no idea why anyone would sign to Puffy's label. He is such an attention whore and only cares about promoting himself.

Yeah, you're right about Puffy. But I guess since he's a popular producer, he could be in the position to make N.E. relevant again.

I always liked N.E. because they were more than just a boy band. They were the real deal in Soul music.

The fucking nerve of one orger to say that 5 Star was better. Come on. Fucking 5 Star? rolleyes

I knew that their relationship with Bad Boy wouldnt work out. I sure do wish them the best though. It seems that they had more drama in their group than Destiny's Child and the Supremes, combined! I cant wait to see this Behind the Music episode.
