No, I am also straight and I love House music. How can you not be a dancer and hate House music unless you don't have a soul.

Prince hates house...

I hate that Prince hates house.

I doubt Prince hates house. He just hates that he's not #1 on the dance floors anymore and that dj's are what pushed him off, not "real musicians."

no, he said he hated it...someone asked him (i think in an online q&a) if he liked it and he said, "no, its all repeatitive without any soul".

Good shout miguelgomez. Yeah the Louie Vega 'Dance Ritual' album is fantastic & Id recommend it to anyone who likes soul music.

IF you like the Dance Ritual then you should get 'Danny Krivit In The House' which has just come out in the UK on Defected Records. Similar vibe & tracks to Dance Ritual. Danny Krivit is one of the best DJ's & Re'Editers for soul & funk house.

People that say that house is now too techno must be going to the wrong clubs & listening to bullshit in the charts that is passed off as house & techno.
Dig deeper & you will find some seriously soul drenched music being made & played by the likes of MAW/Louie Vega, Danny Krivit, Timmy Regisford, Blaze, Mr V, Moodymann, Theo Parrish, Ron Trent, DJ Spinna. lol

YEAH, YEAH, YEAH.

You took the words right out of my mouth dude. Please tell me that you actually got to go to LAZYDOG or to UNDERDOG. I'm trying to get out to the U.K. so bad. I've been trying since the 80's.

I have to say this to everyone. House Heads pretty much know this.
I love to go to House clubs because my experience has been that everyone is there to enjoy good music. I've been to house clubs that it really doesn't matter if you're straight or gay. Everyone is there just "Sunday shouting" having a great time. I've met sooo many cool guys and girls going out. I don't go out to dance clubs to try and pick/up. It's hard to explain that feeling you get when you're dancing to house and your favorite song comes on. I don't mean to get too deep but sometimes it's soooo good that you feel like crying. AND I don't do drugs, imagine if I did. I don't think this is a U.S.A. thing only. Does anyone feel me on that feeling you get when the music is f'ing great and you get in that zone.

I went to see/hear Frankie Knuckles spin at the HOB here in Chicago two years ago and I didn't need drugs or alcohol or nuthin'. I totally forgot there were other people in the room with me. House music is religion. Farley JackMaster Funk spins at parties here at least once a month now.

Yes and amen!!!!! It's just funny when I try to explain house music to some people and how it makes me feel, they look at me like "oooookay....". THEY DON'T GET IT! I'm so glad so many of you on this thread do.

House that make me go "in".
He Loves Me remix - Jill Scott
Home remix- Simply Red
Look Into Your Eyes remix - Simply Red
For Real remix- Amil Larriuex
Tell Me All About It - Natalie Cole written by Michael Franks.

These are old but still do it to me.

I heard some great new songs yesterday. FREE - Stephanie Mills, PRAISE HIM - Melba Moore, I NEED YOUR LOVIN' - Tina Marie.

Of course my favorite DJ - David Harness played my favorite song, THE HEARTS A LONELY HUNTER and he came down to dance with me and the others. I danced for 5 hours non-stop last night. I'm exhausted!

Chicago househead here.

I wish I would have kept all those tapes I had from the BMX days. And my dumb ass sold the House Music I had on vinyl back in the late 80s.

I can still hold my own with all the dance moves I learned in the mid 80s.
