I have yet to become interested in that "era". I find it too midtempo. But maybe I have listened to the wrong stuff. I admit about the studio trickery thing. We all know al b sure! was al studio magic. But cats like christopher williams, aaron hall etc could sing. Funny how it was really just one producer (teddy riley) that really started the corssover and newjack in general. "just got paid- johnny kemp "i want her"- Keith swaet "my perogative"- Bobby brown "groove me" "piece of my love"-guy.....all teddy produced or arranged somewhere. Jam and lewis were always more pop. La reid and babyface were new jack swing lite! All great though. They were the trinity of rnb producers back then. I'm glad that you are getting hip to Funk of the New Jack Swing b/c it was a cool era Sexofit.

I remember going to a Budweiser Super Fest in the early 90s. Keith Sweat, Ralph Tresvant, Pebbles, Babyface, Digital Underground, LL Cool J, and BBD. This was in July in Chicago and it was about 102 that day. The concert was outside at Soldier Field. Did anyone else atend this concert? I remember an extremely long wait in between sets before Keith Sweat came on stage.

Twisted & Nobody(With Athena Cage) were my CUTS back in 96.
I neva understood the hate against the brotha, his voice never bugged me(not like Al.B Sure's & Debarge's and I know I'll get hounded for that but fuck who got a problem ). [Edited 5/1/05 15:17pm]

Hell Yeah. Both songs were some cold slow jams back in 96 and I don't care what noboady say. They can hate on my boy Keith if they want to shit. He going to be having a new album coming out sometime next year.
