I paid special attention to whether she would kindly acknowledge Bob Dole and the sweetheard that she is, she did....I'm not sure if I would have if I were Tori (or even that hot bimbo).

because tori has class and respect...even for those she may disagree with on political levels.

That might all go out the window if it was Bush she was meeting. lol

so im gonna post the seattle setlist here since the other thread is taking 1,000 days to load, lol! here it is:

Original Sinsuality
Yes, Anastasia
Take to the Sky
Blood Roses
Happy Phantom
Jamaica Inn
Cool On Your Island

Magic Man (Heart)
Eyes Without A Face (Billy Idol)

BQ/Horses
Marianne
Parasol
Cloud On My Tongue
Space Dog
The Beekeeper

1st Encore:
The Power of Orange Knickers
Putting the Damage On

2nd Encore:
Ribbons Undone
Tear In Your Hand

pretty good setlist...very similar to chicago i think. i must say i'm really surprised by just how much she's pulling out "yes, anastasia." maybe i really did influence this revival of the song. even on the under the pink tour she didn't perform it with such frequency! its always been looked at as a tour rarity and it seems odd that i asked her to sing it in chicago (before the tour started) and its popped up all over the place.

eh, i'm just having some wishful thinking i guess.

That looks tight! And the covers are great.

You probably planted the seed and she thought, "That's not a bad idea!"

Oh and I'm listening to the radio version of "Strange". What a great mix! Why did I overlook this until now?

I think I figured between the 2 shows we saw like 32 songs total. yay!

And good idea to put the setlists here. It's a good way to keep the Tori momentum going. nod

For some reason I thought you said you weren't doing the school thing this summer. Did you just add some classes?

Looks like Tori may not be touring with the band this summer after all. I'm kinda bummed. For as great as the solo shows were (the best of hers I've ever seen), I was really looking forward to seeing her with her band. I've only ever seen her solo and I feel like some of the Beekeeper songs really call for a band sound live.

where'd you hear this? i'd be incredibly surprised if she didn't tour with a band for this record. there's so much that begs to played with the band...hoochie woman, witness, the beekeeper, general joy, martha's foolish ginger...uh uh, she's GOT to tour with the band!

Oh. Sorry. I meant to post the source. The Dent. I'm such a flake today.

Several Toriphiles have emailed me about a comment that drummer Matt Chamberlain posted on his web site at mattchamberlain.com that states that he will NOT be touring with Tori this year and that Tori will likely continue with her tour solo since it has been such a success. This is a most unexpected development, since before now all indications were that Tori was to tour with her band when she returns to the States in late summer 2005. I guess it is always possible that Tori could tour with a different drummer or band configuration, but this post strongly seems to indicate she will continue solo. I will continue to update you on this as we find out more...

well, here's my 2 cents...back with under the pink and boys for pele, tori toured not with a band but with accompaniment. she had a rhythm section, basically, and they played when it was needed (space dog, caught a lite sneeze, etc). this was perfect because the "band" not take away from the intimacy of tori and her piano. i would prefer something like this over a full band...we'll have to wait and see, i guess. in the meantime, this is what the set looks like so far in san fran:

Original Sinsuality
Little Amsterdam
China
Goodbye Pisces..(note: Jon Evans "on bass" is in the audience).
Space Dog
Seaside
Icicle

I remember the guitar player on the Dew Drop Inn tour. That was a nice touch. But I would love to see her with her band. They're so tight and colorful and such a nice compliment to her sound. Plus, that's where she's at in her writing, so it makes sense to include them in the live show. I'm still bitter that I missed the Plugged tour. pout

a very odd setlist, indeed. its cool and looks great, i'm just wondering what was going on in her head to have her jumping all over the place like that.

and in other tori related ideas...while listening to marys of the sea this morning on my way to class i realized that tori has read "the davinci code." lol maybe i'm slow on this but its all about the church shutting out the female figures in biblical history (that part i already knew) but the notion of dancing the ring, building on rock that's on sand, something no man can divide, and the lost bride weeps. i knew she was specifically speaking of the two marys but i didn't realize she was addressing the whole "did jesus and mary get married" thing. i haven't read "the davinci code" (the hype has me completely disinterested) but i'm assuming from what i've heard, seen, and read about it, tori is a big fan of the novel.

Yeah, it gets a few mentions in her book, along with several others on the subject.

She seemed to be going for similarly titled songs there in the middle. "Mother" and "Mother Revolution". "Marys of the Sea" and "Marianne".
