No orgers reviews of MImi yet?

Personally....

ITS HOT!

Yes she has really got her formula together now. I's definitley LOVING "Joy Ride" oh my GOD that song is lucious!

"Mine Again" was giving me eargasms! omg Her voice sounded so strage to not have any whispering with so much emotion in it...and I hear that through most of the album.

"Your Girl" headbang WOW! "Circles" Whoa!

The only songs I disagreed with mentally were "TO THe Floor" which is bland bored and One And Only which is not THAT bad but it just left me remembering them Charmbracelet rap/r&b duets rolleyes

And should I congrads to using "Just An Illusion" mixed with "Aint We Funkin Now" (I think) on "Get Your Number"? I dont know

But I know this is a strong title and I'm glad she did not dissapoint.

Yeah, we've reviewed it in different threads and even given critic's reviews of it. smile I think it's a good album, her best in a long while. My favorites:

Get Your Number (Jermaine's got the desperate club troller act down pat)
Your Girl
Circles
Mine Again
Stay the Night
Joy Ride
I Wish You Knew

And Fly Like a Bird is probably her best ballad since Butterfly.

Then there are the bad ones:

It's Like That
Shake It Off
To the Floor
barf

Songs I could take or leave:

Say Somethin'
We Belong Together
One and Only
(reminds me too much of Breakdown)

It's a solid album, but I still wonder how it's going to sell. She's got too much baggage lately, and people still think (perhaps rightly so) that she's a loon.

I haven't liked a Mariah CD like this since Butterfly. I can listen to it all the way through, no skipping whatsoever. Even the less-than-stellar songs like To The Floor are still groovable.

Joy Ride is exquisite and I'm so glad she went back to the gospel flavor on Fly Like A Bird. It is so not corny like the title suggests. Just when that song is truly taking off it just stops leaving me to wonder the potential of it as a remix or live performance. Hearing a little taste of her do Make It Happen this morning on GMA was serious reminder of what she can do with a choir.

So, you've listened to the album? I'm not saying everyone has to be a fan of it, but at least listen to it before you dog it.

Well, considering that I listened to the first several coasters that Mariah put out, and hated each and everyone of them, as well as the fact that the four snippets I have heard off this one are equally vomit-inducing, I really don't need to hear it. I'm pretty certain I will find it craptacular.

"Good album" and "Mariah Carrey" just don't go together. "Shitty", "sucky", & "as enjoyable as having my toenails yanked out with rusty pliers" all go better with "Mariah Carrey", by far.

I bought it last night at midnight. Was there at 11:30 and only 3 people in line. I walk round the store n get back in line at 11:50. There is now about 50 people in line. She is getting a really huge gay following.

I like it. It is not ground-breaking but it is a return to form. This one will sell better than both of her last two albums combined.

lol. Now that was funny. Well, at least you listened to the 4 tracks and tried to give it a chance n it just didn't speak to you. I respect that.

The org has been pretty hip lately. Giving away the celery stalk trick which does work and phrases like craptacular. Well, I am off to the "I want to have sex with Macy Gray" thread .so I can give a few ugly faces to my computer.
omfg sick barf

One last thing; the Mariah photoshoots in magazines have been hot!

I haven't got the new record yet.. I'm waiting for my next paycheque.

But I brought her GREATEST HITS into work. My co-worker is PMS-ing and I'm like "uhh can we listen to old Mariah?"

and I showed her the cd.

coworker: "you paid MONEY for the greatest hits of Mariah Carey???"

me: "how can you deny her?! mad she's holding a frickin butterfly!"

I like that part, too. It's what we call a "hook", Mariah, and "It's Like That" needed more of them.

Okay, I heard a BUNCH of it last night (against my will, from a friend who is still trying to convert me to the Church Of Mariah) and I have to say....it sucks ass as much as her other albums do. To be fair, it isn't any worse than any of the other butt-nuggets she's churned out over the years. No, its very much in the same vein as her other awful recordings. Senseless screeching, bad lyrics and boring samples, yet again.

There was more immature babbling negative about the record not actually naming songs and just bad mouthing her period more than the artistics on it so shrug to the negative replies because when I played it at work, people were having me replay songs and saying that she succeeded with trying out new ways of singing.

Like I said the album is hotter than anything alot of female artists have put out this year headbang Much better than Ashanit's, J.Lo's, Ciara's. Whitney's, Madonna's last albums..she peaked them.

Haven't heard the cd and probably won't. I lost interest in Mariah years ago. She does have a very good voice, but I just can't seem to take her seriously anymore. She's such a plastic looking bimbo and she seems so weak and needy. I prefer to listen to strong women like Mary J, Lauryn and Melissa Etheridge....
