Doh! I read it as '89 not '99. Sorry. Yes, I was there. Awesome show. And even then it would have been 1990 not 89.

Where is my head? edit.

The Barkays - 1985. This is how they were looking at the time and complete with the boa constrictor, they lived up to the song "Freakshow On The Dance Floor".

My favourite gig was probably one of my first - John Cale and Chris Spedding back in 87.

However, the best performance I ever saw any act give was a free outdoor performance by the Neville Brothers. I know almost nothing about this band except for Aaron Neville's sappy ballads that occasionally polluted the airwaves way back when, so I had few expectations one way or the other. They put on a seriously intense performance of hard Louisiana grooves. Definitely one of the best things I've ever seen in my life - and it was free.

Jealous? wink

But seriously, I've had a lot of concert luck and seen a lot of great shows. And I'm willing to travel.

Plus, no one said I had to limit it. I'd be hard pressed to list only 3.

I believe you!

One of my favorites . . .

Joey Ramone's Birthday Bash - NYC, 1997. Not only did I get the chance to personally shake his hand and thank him for The Ramones' music--I got kissed by RONNIE SPECTOR after she sang 'Be My Baby' while lookin' right at me!

Religious experience, that one.

Prince's Musicology show was certainly among my top three (fantastic seats didn't hurt it's ranking any!), but here are a couple of my other highlights:

Stevie Ray Vaughan (with Ernie Isley opening) one month before he died
The White Stripes in 2003 in an auditorium that holds maybe 5,000 people
BB King at the Beacon Theatre in NYC on his 74th birthday (with Kenny Wayne Shepherd and Tower of Power opening for him)

Want to hear about the other 58 shows?! smile
