One of my best ever concert experiences was the Musicology Prince tour. I'm an NPG member, so my seats were against the stage!! And if that weren't amazing enough, Prince came over and tagged my hand along with the others! Not once but twice! He stood right over me playing guitar countless times. The whole thing was a dream come true.

Other great concerts?

Van Halen's first tour with Sammy Hagar---I was 16 and had 5th row seats. Unbelievable!

Prince's "Lovesexy" show. My seats sucked, but wow was that an incredible show.

Other standouts? Stevie Wonder, Sting, 10,000 Maniacs (because Natalie played Verdi Cries as an oncore, and it started to rain), James Taylor (what a nice summer night) and many many more.

The one and only time he played Wembley Stadium. Awesome.
I was right at the front - SO SO AMAZING!!!!

Also a couple of weeks later at an aftershow at The Rex in Paris. A two hour gig that kicked off with an insane version of Get Your House In Order!!!

AAAARRRGGGHHHH!!!!!

PJ Harvey & Tricky - NYC, 1995
Prince - Champaign, IL, 2004
Prince & the Revolution - Indianapolis, IN, 1985
Sonic Youth - Columbus, OH, 2003

Honorable mentions - Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds, Princess Superstar, David Bowie...seen 'em all several times, and while I'm always excited to see them play live, I haven't seen a particular show that I've considered 'singular'. Either it's because they're always great, or because I just haven't seen 'em in that PERFECT mindspace, or maybe both reasons at the same time. shrug

Mine was U2 at the NEC in Birmingham, 2001 on the Elevation tour. headbang

I was right at the edge of the heart shaped stage and to be so close to Bono was just awesome... real 'hair stands up on neck' moments throughout...

bawl Why are they playing stadiums this time...? bawl

Actually, a few years ago Graham Central Station played a fab 3 hr set at the Jazz Cafe in London. They blew me away....

We've been waiting for so long! Waiting to play for you, some of our songs!

Oh, Mint Condition at the same venue were pretty good too.

For OTT CAMPNESS.....Mariah at Wembley Arena last year. Who else would get lowered from the ceiling on a silk swing and then land ass first on to a Grand Piano, all the time singing out Subtle Invitation.

Ha Ha Ha! nutty

Michael Jackson - History
Prince - his 2000 celebration concert
James Brown - concert off his latest tour. It felt good!

Sade - Lovers Rock Tour w/ India Arie 2001

I´m dying to see Sade. She´s the last one that I´d really ĺove to see that I haven´t seen yet.
"When Michael Jackson is just singing and dancing, you just think this is an astonishing talent. And he has had this astounding talent all his life, but we want him to be floored as well. We really don´t like the idea that he could have it all."

sos, I totally agree. The band, the staging, the lighting and her voice created an amazing ambience. She's so chic and so classy. One of her shows is a must see.
