The Bee Gees

I love them so much - as singers, musicians AND songwriters! It's such a shame that they didn't get their props until about the mid-90s, when they'd been doing music for well over 40 years by that time. A lot of people just write them off as the guys who did "Saturday Night Fever", but that's not true at all. In fact, only a handful of the Bee Gees' hit came from SNF. My best friend has a crush on Barry, and she's only 23. It's so cute. smile

Any fans? What's your favorite tune by the Brothers Gibb?

"New York Mining Disaster 1941" was depressing as hell, too. ESPECIALLY back when those miners were trapped up in New England!

I like most of their early work but absolutely love everything post 75 (from Main Course on.

And in everything I include their solo work, Andy's albums and related artists (early 80's)

The Bee Gees are Bad Ass Mother Fuckers that made fire in the 70's. Iv lost count of the number of cats that have sampled their shit. Jay-Z, R.Kelly, Wyclef Jean, Snoop Dogg, Pras & ODB not to mention their entire back catalougue being covered by everyone.

Does anyone know if the Bee Gees own their own songs? I know that there were singer/songwriters before them, but I think they probably put producing/songwriting on the map - especially producing - and made other musicians say, "Oh, okay. I can produce for other people and still make a lot of money." Producing is really where the big money is. I think one of their biggest hits is still probably "Guilty" by Barbra Streisand, along with "Islands in the Stream" and "Heartbreaker" (which is lots of fun to sing in a karaoke bar - especially when you're dead drunk).

Great group with truly unique falsettos. Before I saw them, I thought they were black women.

I just bought 2 Japanese 2004 editions. Not sure if they're remastered but they don't have any extras sad
(I cringed every time I saw my Asian Living Eyes copy so I had to replace it)
