yeah anyway lets say janet is average. Below randy average on the talent thing.

I saw a short clip of Tito playing jazz guitar recently and it was surprisingly good.

Other than Jermaine on bass, I've yet to see another Jackson play an instrument.

That said, Mike is still #1.

It's a shame that Randy has had so many problems...he really is a talented songwriter, and by all accounts, is one of those natural musicians who can pick up any instrument and play proficiently...

My second choice would be the father, Joseph. Didn't he produce a lot of The Jacksons stuff after they left Motown and Janet and LaToya's first album?

I think Jermaine would be third and is far underrated....he also was responsible for Switch.

I guess next I would choose Rebbie. I think she has a FAR better voice than Janet.

From what I hear, Tito is very good with guitar these days but not many people know about it.

Marlon had a little something in the late 1980s that lasted for about a minute. I remember one particular jam that caught my ear at the time.

I guess Janet would be next. She may have been far more successful than the others but I have her so far down the list because she owes her success to her producers, Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis. I think Joseph produced a lot of her first album and Jesse Johnson produced some of her second album. These were two great albums that go unnoticed, even by her, and I consider them far better than anything she did in the 1990s. I guess she doesn't acknowlege them because they didn't crossover.

I guess I would put LaToya at the bottom. Surprisingly, I recently bought her first album and some of the tracks weren't that bad.

Yup, he wrote One More Chance (one of the better tracks from Victory, later covered by Janetas a B-side), and wrote the music for Give It Up, and Time Waits For No One...I know most folks didn't cop his solo album, but the man definitely had a way with hooks and melodic changes, , especially on tracks like The Love We Almost Had, I Can't Wait, Need You, Not Because of Me, and Love You, Honey....

....Janet says Randy is the one who turned her onto Joni Mitchell's music...

If he had written, played or produced outside of that sad Circus/Sideshow Jacksons situation, who knows? he might have become a respected artist by now...unfortunate, because he and Jermaine, removed from the Jacksons drama, are actually very talented all-around musicians...

Fav's are "love u honey" (the vocoder ) "I can't wait" and my personal fav "gigalo". Thatmis some funky chukki booker type shit right there.

yeah, but I was never big on the Industrial sound of the early 90's, I think it makes the tracks sound dated, but I loved his melodic sense...I think the songs would sound great in an acoustic setting...

Randy, to me is the most talented musician in the whole family.

I have seen or heard of him playing Randy just about every instrument except for brass and woodwinds. He playa all percussion including drums, conga/bongos and other like cowbell, ect. He also plays guitar and bass and piano, keyboards and synths.

Randy's first single "How Can I Be Sure" from 78' is a nicesong also.

If u like babyface, jermaines "you said" album is very good. Luckily la reid was still with babyface, so u get funky newjack laced tracks like "you said you said", which sounds like a older cousin to Pebbles "giving u the benefit" and a uncle to Bobby Browns "humping around"
