WTF--Jay-Z partners up for $23,000 wrist watch

i know i'm gonna get one as soon as they come down to the flea market!! lol

Jay-Z, Audemars Piquet announce new watch

NEW YORK (AP) — Bling is moving uptown. Jay-Z and watchmaker Audemars Piquet announced Tuesday the creation of a limited-edition timepiece. A series of 100 watches will retail for between $23,500 and $69,500.
Jay-Z and watchmaker Audemars Piquet have created a limited-edition watch to commemorate his 10 years in the music industry.
By Gregory Bul, AP

"I chose to partner with Audemars Piquet based on the quality and integrity of the brand," Jay-Z said in a statement. "It's a perfect marriage."

The 35-year-old rap mogul has lately been a trendsetter of high style. On the song What More Can I Say, he raps, "I don't wear jerseys, I'm 30-plus. Give me a crisp pair of jeans..."

The watches were co-designed by Jay-Z, whose real name is Shawn Carter. They are to commemorate his 10th anniversary in the music industry, with a portion of the proceeds to benefit the S. Carter Scholarship Fund.

Even if I could, I'd never buy a watch that costs that much. I don't even like watches.

i mean really...it's one thing to buy a somebody's $13.99 cd, or their $19.99 Rocawear shirt..but who the hell is gonna buy this thing? I guess maybe the young and rich, like an NBA or NFL player, but don't know too many Fortune 500 execs who's gonna bite... and I thought shit in NPGMC retail was expensive lol

"Hey Bill, is that a Cartier watch you're wearing?"

"Why no it's not, Stanley...this is the the new Jay-Z watch..it was only $65,000!"

"Wow, it's stunning. Maybe you can clock some hoes with that!"

"No doubt. I'm the first one in my country club to get one!"
