Kool and the Gang!

Sometimes I forget how funky they are! Happy music for happy times! I can't sit still when their tunes flow out of the speakers.

C'mon, who else likes to get down on it with Kool and the Gang?

That's right! They're all killer tunes! So fresh, FRESH - exciting! biggrin

They always put me in a happy mood. I think the sound should hit home with most Prince fans; the groove, the funky feeling etc. Or am I the only one who thinks there's a bit of a resemblence? hmmm

Yep. Gotta put "Jungle Boogie" on there, though. The intro to that song is "stoopid"!

D'Angelo took the Kool and The Gang instrumental "Sea Of Tranquility", wrote lyrics to it, and retitled it as "Send it On" on the Voodoo album....

My first concert too! highfive

Ohio State Fair, 198-somethin'.

People in my 'hood used to bump "Too Hot" when it came out.
Some people diss the 80's stuff because it was a little more pop/r&b-oriented.
I grew up on it, so I didn't have the old funk to compare it to. I was able to appreciate it simply for what it was.
