i have said it before and i will say it again.....if you let the public vote on these kind of lists....you end up with a pile of steaming shite....most people wouldnt know a really great album/song if it pulled down their drawers and performed oral sex on them.....this list could have been worse.....they only allowed people to pick from 125 albums that had already been chosen by the producers.....if they had not done that,..you would have been looking at westlife, mcfly, cheeky girls and any other poor excuse for musicial talent being on there.....just be thankful

Yeah it's all conformist crap and so stale. There were a couple of surprises especially seeing Curtis Mayfield's Superfly in the mid 60's position. The rest was sooooo predictable.

If only u could vote for the one u wanted and not some snobby list.
In reality, a spice girls album is proberly very good with all the singles and all, yet was it mentioned?

Blame the great british public. I'm sure you could vote for others not on their list though.

There's still some classics in there, tho. It ain't so bad. There are. But get fucking Eminem out of there! And get Oasis out of there! And Dido?! What's with all these lists lately anyway? It seems as if everybody and their grandmother is making "best of" lists these days. I guess everyone's just getting nostalgic for the days when music was actually good. Never ever understood the hype of a new sleeping drug that came in a £12.99 cd. Good to see paul simons "graceland" though. Fantastic album.

I see them. Unfortunately. Ohhhhh yeah. "brothers in arms". I like that album. "so far away" and "walk of life" rules, but "love over gold" is my personal fav album. What is wrong with dire straits? Yeah he was a dylan clone lyrically and even vocally with the phrasing, but he play good guitar and albums are very fine examples of superb production. some may argue too slick for some tastes. I love "industrial disease" off "love over gold". Mark sorta raps in his own sorta way.

Im suprised you didn't say Madonna *waits for Minni G to say Madonna* Do you want me to say Madonna? Ok, get fucking Madonna out of there! I can't really say anything about that album though, because I've never even heard it. At least not in its entirety. So I can't really comment about the fact that it's on a "greatest" list. I just don't care for Madonna in general, so if this were a "greatest artists" thread, then it would be a different story. Plus, I'm never surprised that her albums show up on these sorts of lists because obviously she's hugely popular. Well, I won't say any more on the subject personally. And as I said before, I haven't even heard the whole thing.
