Jamiroquai's new CD 'Dynamite'---exclusive news, confirmed tracklist and early review

There is a three-page interview with Jay and two new images of him in the new issue of Buzz magazine (Japan).Jay describes the first single "Feels Just Like It Should" as a "new style. If I was 17 years old and had never heard Jamiroquai before,I would think this is a brand new band. This song is beyond the edge of hip-hop,funk and rock".The interview says that Jay had invited US rapper Nas to work together on a track although nothing has happened yet.Regarding the track "Give Hate A Chance",he says it "reflects the times".That song is paired with another track "World He Wants" which apparently is about US president George W.Bush.Another new track is revealed "Star Child".The magazine also reveals that there will be two bonus tracks for the Japanese release of 'Dynamite'.

So,let's take a look at the tracklist so far.The last five titles have been mentioned in the past, but as of right now,we are not certain if they will really appear on the album...

"Feels Just Like It Should"
"Dynamite"
"Seven Days In Sunny June"
"Give Hate A Chance"
"Tabulah"
"Electric Mistress"
"World He Wants"
"Black Devil Car"
"Star Child"
"Cannabliss" (unconfirmed)
"Shoot The Moon" (unconfirmed)
"A Funk Odyssey" (unlikely)
"Midnight Sun" (unconfirmed)
"Hollywood Swinging" (unconfirmed)

UPDATE:tracklist has been confirmed (scroll down)

ALBUM REVIEW:

Jamiroquai 'Dynamite' (Sony/BMG)

Four years on from the chart-topping 'Funk Odyssey',the Cat in the Hat-turned-flashy car fanatic has never seemed more out of step with his pop peers.Which is probably a good thing. Some of 'Dynamite' does mark a change for Jamiroquai, though.Having spent time in L.A.,watching "all the beautiful ladies who lunch",Jay Kay is starting to sound like a girlier Lenny Kravitz. It suits him on both "Black Devil Car" and "Feels Just Like It Should",which boasts buzzy bass, psychedelic guitars and squelchy effects.

Less adventurous, but possibly more pleasing for old fans, are the summery, slightly jazzy "Seven Days In Sunny June" and the Eighties disco-type title track. On the downside, the political message on the fast-n-frisky,dancefloor number "Give Hate A Chance" gets lost, and overall the lyrics consist mainly of silly rhyming lines and odes to Kay's car collection.

He says "If you haven't had an album out in four years, you want to have an impact and this says it,I'm back with a vengeance".

We say he may act like an idiot, punch like a girl, and have an ego the size of his country pile, but there's only one Jay Kay.

It grows on me the more I play it,but it's a weak choice for a first single."Seven Days In Sunny June" kills this song!!

"Seven Days In Sunny June" kinda reminds me of "Virtual Insanity"...it has similiar piano flourishes. It's breezy and jazzy...the perfect summer song.Great hook and arrangement.I love the second verse with that funky bassline.I love this song!! This is the Jamiroquai that I like.

Trying to find this. Could you add a direct link.

It will probably grow on me as well. The song underneath is nice. Just so digitally muddy. I guess I have to listen to it long enough for that part to become white noise.
