Tears For Fears' "Sowing the Seeds of Love" Does anybody think that this song, in parts, sounds like the song "I Am the Walrus" by The Beatles? Maybe not the entire song, but especially in the very beginning and during the chorus "Sowing the seeds of love...seeds of love...sowing the seeds of love." Does anybody else see the similarities to these two songs? RIP, mom. I will forever miss and love you. | |

Yes. Tears for Fears are heavily influenced by the Beatles and you hear it a lot on that album and on their new one. Personally I love when Roland made albums without Kurt Smith. Elemental is an amazing record. He is truly one of the most slept on artists ever. And his voice, in my opinion, is almost as great as Bono's. | |

I didn't know that The Beatles were an influence for Tears for Fears. Guess I shoulda known that by the "Seeds of Love" song.  RIP, mom. I will forever miss and love you. | |

I didn't know that The Beatles were an influence for Tears for Fears. Guess I shoulda known that by the "Seeds of Love" song. they werent on their first two albums...or at least they didnt express it as much...but i think Roland really took to heart all the critics complaints that their music was really cold and sanitary (something i never got)....then comes out Seeds and the critics are won over and their sound is changed forever.... I didn't think The Beatles were much of an influence on Tears for Fears in the beginning either. If you listen to their songs "Shout" and "Head Over Heels", to me, those two songs sound nothing at all like The Beatles. It figures that a song that imitates The Beatles would be highly praised by music critics. RIP, mom. I will forever miss and love you. | |

I admit, I like the song too, I think because it reminds me so much of a Beatles' song.  I'm surprised that the surviving Beatles didn't sue Tears for Fears for ripping off their song. Maybe Paul, Ringo and George (who was still alive at the time the song was released) felt like they made enough money during their time as The Beatles as well as solo artists, that they didn't need the money. But if I were a songwriter and if someone were to rip me off like that, I probably would haul their ass to court for copyright infringement. RIP, mom. I will forever miss and love you. | |
