Who here on the Org remembers the song "Murphy's Law" by Cheri. That song is classic early 1980's Dance/Disco/RnB/Funk or whaterver type of music it is.

The song maybe 5 years older then me (released in 82') I still hear it alot on oldschool radio stations and other channels. I never knew who sang the song until just now. I will have to go and scoop up a CD with it on there.

P.S. I love the syths on the song.

I probably don't remember when it came out but I do love that song. A fun dance pop song. I'm kind of surprised it hasn't been given more love of the years (I don't think it's been covered or sampled to death).

Great song! I also like the song she did the following year called "Working Girl".....a song about a hooker.

LOVE this song! I have a CD compilation that contains this track, so I listened to it as recently as yesterday.

I remember when it came out, too -- it was all over urban radio.

now what I want is nothing new.....just a different avenue.....

I just listened to this song. Definately one (if not for sure the one) of my favorite one hit wonders. They did ever release a full album and if so, what was it like? Widely available?

I have the 45. I don't know if there was an album but Cheri wasn't a one hit wonder....she was a "two song wonder". "Working Girl" came out the next year. It got moderate airplay. Most people don't remember it but they would if they were to hear it again.

OH MY GOD!!!

I have this song on my ipod but when i "illegally" acquired it online, the name of the artist was not listed. I've been trying to search for the name of this group/artist for months....Thanks for solving this mystery
