Which albums would you like to see in Universal's Deluxe Edition Series? Personally, I think it's just a shame that the folks haven't added Stevie Wonder's Talking Book, Innervisions, & Songs In The Key Of Life in the deluxe edition series. I would love to hear some of the things he tried to do for those albums and some of the stuff that would've been on there. I'm also suprised that some of Marvin G.'s 70's masterpieces (What's Going On, I Want You, & I Want You) have been in this series with attractive packaging, bonus stuff, and excellent remastering, but how can they forget his 1978 classic, Here My Dear? Those are some of the albums I would love to see in this series. Do you have any you would like to see in this series? Check me out and add me on:

As long as Universal is interested in presenting Motown releases, I'd like to get a couple Debarge albums remastered onto CD.
I think Universal also has access to the Island Records catalog to reissue deluxe versions of. I know they already did a good job on Eric B & Rakim's Paid In Full's deluxe edition.

btw, hip-o select has been doing a great job of reissuing Motown stuff.
Maybe since Street Songs by Rick James has got the reissue, reprint, remaster, and deluxe treatment, maybe we could at least see another run of Come Get It CDs, if not a deluxe treatment.

They've been promising Here My Dear for about a year or so now...every time a new wave of deluxe editions come out I get al excited, then disappointed. But it IS supposed to be coming - hopefully they're using the time to dig up some real treats.
I'm perplexed by the lack of Stevie Wonder ones too. I think the main problem is probably that he keeps a very tight leash on his outtakes (and supposedly has a clause in his will saying they will be destroyed when he dies! Argh!), so maybe theres no extras to put on. C'mon Stevie, let go of a live show or something! I'd love to see the (rumoured) deluxe edition of Public Enemy's It Takes A Nation Of Millions To Hold Us Back come true. The only hip hop DE so far was kinda lackluster (Eric B & Rakim's Paid in Full - a classic album, but the only extras were remixes, which aside from the legendary Coldcut mix of the title track weren't particularly exciting), but PE released some great remixes and b-sides off that album, plus it'd be incredible to hear any tracks that were left off it. Really, even an instrumental version to hear the Bomb Squads layering of sounds would be worth the price. Oh, and obviously it'd be fantastic to see an equvilant of a deluxe edition for Prince's classic albums - they're sorely in need of a remaster, and we all know how much bonus material is waiting to be included. My ideal deluxe edition of any golden era Prince album would be a first disc containing the album and all b-sides and 12" mixes, a second (and third....) disc of outtakes, and, while we're dreaming, an extra disc (or two...) containing a live show from the album's corresponding tour. Hell, chuck in a DVD containing the live show and music videos from the album too. Thats, what, a 6 disc set? Piece of cake! Francis.

Donna Summer's 1978 double-LP 'Live and More' really deserves the Deluxe Edition treatment. The current CD of this album doesn't even include the 'MacArthur Park Suite'! They could add a second disc containing the live tracks that Donna performed on that tour, but did not appear on the album: "A Song For You","Could It Be Magic",etc.
