Some of my faves would be Funkadelic 70 -73, Eddie first solo album "Guitar, Dames and Thangs", and his work on Ruth Copeland's albums, to me, was some of his best playing ever. Second answer. I have been playing guitar, seriously since I was 15. I play a lot of different styles, mainly cuz I always listened to a lot of different music. Third answer. P and I have many of the same influences. Hendrix, Santana, Hazel, Brian May, etc. P has also been an influence on me as well. I grew up on P just like I did Hendrix. Even though we share similar influences, their are other cats that u may hear in my playing that P may not infuse. I don't think their is anyone who P isn't aware of. I often get compared to Hendrix, Hazel, Ernie Isley, and yes, Prince. It depends on the person and what and who their hip to. If someone says Hendrix or Hazel, then that's kinda obvious. If someone says Uli Roth from The Scorpions or Glen Buxton from Alice Cooper, Or Brian May, then I'm like "aahh, very good ear." Throw in David Gilmour as well. I forgot your last question. As I mentioned before, P has definately been influenced by Hazel, but so has Jessie Johnson. And P and Jessie couldn't sound any different from each other. So, again, it depends on your take and how you showcase your influence.

"It's no doubt that u may think of P when u heard this, because this has influenced P's playing. But, Hendrix was Hazel's influence AND inspiration on this. And for good measure, if u listen to Hazel's playing, there is a big nod to Santana as well, who again was greatly influenced by Jimi. So, u see, it all traces back to Hendrix at the end of the day."
As much as I LOVE Eddie Hazel and Parliment Funkadelic, I couldn't disagree more with this statement. I don't see the connection between Eddie and Prince. Prince took more from Carlos Santana and Joni than he did from Hendrix and Eddie. AS for Carlos' influence, I think you'd have to give the nod to Miles Davis over Hendrix (Carlos is a VERY smooth and melodic player, as opposed to Hendrix's machine gun attack of sound). Very cool, player. Right on to your thought. But first off, Jimi's playing was SO much more than a "machine gun attack". Second, have u ever heard Santana's take on "She's Not There"? If u have and u can still say that Carlos wasn't influenced by Jimi, then, fly on, brother! Fly on! SynthiaRose said "I'm in love with blackguitaristz. Especially when he talks about Hendrix."

This song has prob 1 of the best guitaring in it i have ever heard, and its kinda sounds like princy, its by a band called "fuckadelic" I haven't heard anything else from them, but im dont really want 2, cus this 10min track is another, it is totaly beuaitful! any 1 heard this, i fink it was released in the 70's? Seriously, andykeen, try to hip yourself to Eddie's first solo album. It's a little broader than early Funkadelic. Cut's like "Frantic Moment" could have easily been on "Tales Of Kidd Funkadelic" & "Hardcore Jollies". SynthiaRose said "I'm in love with blackguitaristz. Especially when he talks about Hendrix."

B.B King, Buddy Guy, Muddy Waters, T Bone Walker, Elvis Presley (if you can believe that), Curtis Mayfield, Howlin Wolf. Eddie Kramer also said Jimi was big into Bob Dylan, Bach, and Strauss.

Add to that Cream, The Yardbirds (especially Jeff Beck), Sly stone (they influenced each other), James Brown, Little Richard, The Isley Brothers, The Beatles, Frank Zappa (I think)
