Love and Happiness tA Tribal Disorder http://www.soundclick.com...rmusic.htm When I was 7 years old, I actually got to meet Mr.Green through my father who knew Al. I went with my dad over to legendary session drummer James Gadson's house one day and Al dropped by. Very nice man. He pinched my cheeks. SynthiaRose said "I'm in love with blackguitaristz. Especially when he talks about Hendrix."

Happy Birthday To Ya, Al!! pali, u know what? At that time, to me, Al was just another cat that my dad knew. I certainly knew who Al was cuz we had some of his stuff in our house, but I was 7. What would have blown my mind was if it was the Jackson Five, u know. SynthiaRose said "I'm in love with blackguitaristz. Especially when he talks about Hendrix."

I got to meet James Gadson at the funeral of a musician friend. He told an interesting Steely Dan/Donald Fagen tale. tA Tribal Disorder http://www.soundclick.com...rmusic.htm "Ya see, we're not interested in what you know...but what you are willing to learn. I think I read this in the Rules & Regs when I signed up here... 1.8.2 - Thread Protocol Party of the 1st part (thread originator) enjoys full JACKING priviliges of said thread. Furthermore, parties of the 2nd, 3rd, 4th (ad infinitum) can't even say JACK about it. Anyway, he was commenting on a session he had done where he'd played a complete drum track. When the record was released he noticed most of his kit sounded different. It turns out that either his hi-hat or snare drum (can't remember which) part had been retained, but the rest of the drum parts had been replaced with another drummer with a different set. I'm guessing this was Ruby Baby on Donald Fagen's Nightfly record where he was only given an "Additional drums" credit. tA Tribal Disorder http://www.soundclick.com...rmusic.htm "Ya see, we're not interested in what you know...but what you are willing to learn. As u and I both know, Aud, the music BUSINESS is no joke. And the session players, shit, u lucky if u get credited for the shit u played at all. u already had to be known in the biz to get credit, unless you're union, and still. Don't get me started about all the great session players for Mowtown, that nobody even knows about. James was definately known at that point. Damn. SynthiaRose said "I'm in love with blackguitaristz.
