New Morrissey live releases Morrissey has just released a live CD:
and a live DVD, from the same tour but with a significantly different setlist: Anyone heard/ seen these yet? The CD is great and shows that Morrissey's voice is stronger and more musical than at any point in his career, but it is the DVD that really shines. Unfortunately, I missed out on actually going to this gig, so not only did I miss a great gig, but I missed out on a chance meeting with Andy Rourke in the chinese restaurant, which my jammy little brother managed, the little swine

I agree with you. I was at the Earls Court concert. I think the CD lacks audience-noise, the production is a bit cold, but his voice is strong. The DVD is really worth getting. It´s great! See the man with the blue guitar, maybe one day he`ll be a star...

oh and a for you getting to the Earl's Court gig. I saw him at the Move festival, and I have to say it looks better on the extras on the DVD than it did on the day, was a bit flat, atmosphere-wise. I agree that the CD needs a little more crowd noise on it. Good to see Alain Whyte on the DVD, too. Very few details about his whereabouts right now, but hope he is back in the fold soon. It's "whyte" not "white" edit [Edited 4/12/05 5:20am]

Lots of Smiths songs, yeah: A Rush & A Push & The Land Is Ours Shoplifters of the World... Last Night I Dreamt... Rubber Ring (!) There Is A Light That Never Goes Out How Soon Is Now Bigmouth Strikes Again Headmaster Ritual ..spread across the two formats, that is, so some appear twice, some only on either CD or DVD. Great versions too, for the most part. I have also seen him perform a dull Meat Is Murder and an amazing Hand In Glove live too. oh and Is It Really So Strange..

You can hear snippets of each song on the CD at the link below (quality of the uploads is average, not great, so bear in mind the album sounds a little better in reality!): http://www1.hmv.co.uk/hmv...sku=357171

I have the audio from that concert (the DVD) on MP3. Who Put the M in Manchester I believe it's called.
I love the song "Don't Make Fun of Daddy's Voice". "I saw a woman with major Hammer pants on the subway a few weeks ago and totally thought of you." - sextonseven

Why do I always miss these threads?
Anyways, I've heard the live album and it's awesome. They do this new track called "Redondo Beach". For those who've concluded that Moz hates Reggae, they'll be fooled by hearing this one. I've also had the pleasure of seeing the DVD on the big screen. That's right, folks, last month they had screenings of the new Moz DVD at select theaters in the US. It was kickass! "No, not the New York Dolls. They were from the 70's!!" NEW WAVE FOREVER: SLAVE TO THE WAVE FROM THE CRADLE TO THE GRAVE.

I saw Moz at the Move festival (where the extra tracks on the DVD were filmed) and New York Dolls were also on the bill. I can confirm that not only are the Dolls from the 70's, they look like they are in their 70's... Wrinkly old grannies
