Actually I like Macy's voice. It has a Billie Holliday quality to it. In the general pantheon of singers Billie sucks technically, but she took what she had and did really great things with it. When she sings "Strange Fruit" & "Fine & Mellow" you know she's not kidding around, and likewise she makes tunes like, "A Foggy Day," etc, her own. Macy's got the same thing going on.
