Coldplays x&y expected to not get leaked to due security measures Bunch of damn posers who claim they got it.. yeah f*ckin right
-- Coldplay's record label EMI have a lot riding on the band's new album 'X & Y' and are reported to be keeping it under tight security until the official release date. The stringent decision has been made in order to stop the release from falling in the wrong hands and appearing on illegal download networks before it is unleashed to the public. Coldplay's follow up up to the incredibly successful 2002 breakthrough release 'A Rush of Blood to the Head' stands to make enormous revenues for the record label, and the album is likely to be one of the biggest selling releases of the past decade. An advance leak of the album would have great reprecussions for EMI Music, and potentially make an impact on its own commercial future. EMI have already lost a substantial amount of revenue due to the delay in the album's release where share prices plummeted earlier this year. It is reported that 'X & Y' will be kept in sealed music players with security guards. Even music reviewers and critics, who usually receive advance copies of releases for reviews in monthly publications, must adhere to the tight security policy surrounding the album. Instead of a CD promo copy, reviewers may only preview Coldplay's third album via an iPod which is locked in a glass case and surrounded by security guards. The question remains though, if the album leaks what will EMI say or do? It will be a major pie on the face for the music giant. The album is released on June 6th. The first single from the album, 'Speed of Sound', which has already become the biggest selling downloaded song and made chart history in the US, is released tomorrow.

They've done very well with this procedure.. its May 26th and as of yet.. it has NOT been leaked.. regardless of what lie's you here on the org or anywhere else.. they are just f'in posers.. see last coldplay thread for what im referring to.
BTW- if your going to lie and say you got it from winmx, kazaa.. you have no clue about how it works obviously.. the majority of the time, these low grades wont get it until bt sites get it.. [Edited 5/26/05 14:39pm]

The iPod technique has been used by several other bands as well. Unfortunately, it still hasn't completely stopped X & Y from leaking. [Edited 5/26/05 16:31pm]

I was just given a burnt copy of this album by a friend
listening to it right now. I can't say any of the songs jump out at this point. There's a lot of things I recognise from the last two albums. "Swallowed in the Sea" is my fav right now. and true love lives on lollipops and crisps

Listening to this now. My 2 cents: It's too accomplished.
These guys risk slipping into irrelevancy because they're too good at what they do. This album is certainly is good as the last two, but it's almost like it's too easy for them at this point. They're in need of a serious shakeup if they want to be remembered as anything more than a highly competent, smoothed-out amalgamation of Radiohead, U2 and Oasis. In the meantime, however, it's going to be a HUGE hit.

I think that songs like Twisted Logic are a definant change for the band, in a better way. This album is heavily layered, so the rawness isnt there that the previous two had, but thats not a bad thing.. its change.. of course they are gonna get mixed reviews since this doesnt sound quite as easily accessable as their previous two. I believe that coldplays music.. is simply getting "colder".. in a good way. I just think that they are half way playing it safe with this album. Either their gonna turn it to a completley new sound in years to come.. or it will really turn bland. But I think for the most part this album is one of their best, in terms of songwriting.
