Just saw my 1st Seal concert

I saw Seal live for the first time ever today, right here in Copenhagen. And boy! Does he have a fantastic voice or what?! biggrin

Considering he has just released BEST, I was pleasantly surprised that it wasn't a greatest hits tour, because some of the Seal songs that have touched me the deepest weren't singles. And whaddaya know, he played my absolutely favorite Seal song, State of Grace, as well as other great songs like Still Love Remains and Colour from his third album which he called "a very dark album". biggrin

The entire show was acoustic and it sounded great. He had Chris Bruce on bass, which makes this the second time I've seen Chris Bruce live. The first time was in another fantastic, unforgettable show with Wendy & Lisa back in 1990. biggrin

The only bad thing about the Seal show was that it only lasted for about an hour and a half... sad

The amusing thing was that his pants kept looking like they were about to fall down around his ankles and he weasn't wearing any underwear. So now I've seen Seal's buttcrack. lol

woot! SEAL
What songs did he sing? If you can remember the set list.
Though I've never seen Seal in person, the live television performances I've seen have been amazing. Sorry the show was so short. Nothing worse than a short set. pout

This last tour was a scaled down tour. I liked the older shows when he had the full band, but it was nice and intimate when he did his acoustic songs. I LOVE the version of "Kiss From A Rose" when the drummer comes off the drum set and plays that box drum with the sleigh bells tied around his ankle. That set was cool as ice. cool It was also cool to see his bassist & guitarist switching up so much. It was an interesting show of acoustic & sequenced work. I don't think I've ever seen anyone do it like that before. This tour is pretty cool, although his older shows had a bit more flair. He has one of the PUREST voices I've heard since Luther Vandross. Talking about sounding exactly like he does on record! Most artists don't. Seal is the truth! bow

You can see Seal four times for the price of one Prince concert ticket. What's "too expensive" about that? Tell your father that you simply must go. biggrin

He played...

The Beginning
Killer
Colour
Prayer For The Dying
some song to which he used a lyric book
some song from his fourth album I think because I don't know that album too well and I didn't know that song too well either
State Of Grace
Love's Divine
A cover of an old David Bowie song with AMAZING vocals by Seal! (It was my impression that this song was played as a choice of the birthday-boy guitarist)
Crazy

1st encore:
Still Love Remains
Kiss From A Rose

2nd encore:
Birthday song for the guitarist, Eric
The audience sings I Dag Er Det Eric's Fødselsdag to Seal's great amusement
Future Love Paradise

I may have gotten a song or two out of order and maybe even forgotten one, but not two. But that was basically the show. biggrin

His voice was definitely the best instrument in that show. He's got an incredible voice. Extremely impressive. biggrin
