For Awhile my favorite would've been Get Up Offa That Thing until I found out that James Brown didn't write it and I was heartbroken.

But anyway, as obvious as my choice might be, I don't think I could live without Sex Machine, probably THE definitive funk tune of all time. Then again, Talkin Loud and Sayin Nothin, and I don't want nobody to give me nothing are pretty damn good too, and with meaningful lyrics...Damn this is too hard

Then they released Star Time. I think I actually wet myself, finding the unedited version of Mother Popcorn on there.

My other JB fave is an instrumental from CD one of that compilation; Devil's Den is SO unbelievably funky, I cannot wait until Prince plays it one day.
