Madonna: Madonna debut album This is her disco debut and pure dance. I remember they played Physical Attraction and Everbody on rnb stations here. Everyone thought she was black. When I purchased the album I was like wow seein her face on the cover lol. She appeared hipster and funkified. The grooves of Physicl Attraction and Everybody is so rnb and dance club, not dance pop. That's why I was a bit surprised when she went and did Borderline as a video. Borderline made her a hit with the masses due to its more broader pop sound(and video). The Lucky Star beginning brings so many memories. She did her thing on the floor then too. This is Madonna before all the fanboys/girls took over and before she became an "artiste." Before Nile and Stephen Bray got their mechanical pop soul into her. This was raw. Lok at the cover. She is so mature in that pic. Too tuff.

Oooh another Madonna topic, i like i like.
I feel the album was influenced by a lot of Prince's work at that time and the state of r&b. It was an album solely about music and dancing, and the closest she came to making an album with the club sound again was "Music."

Still, my favorite album of hers. Not a bad track on it (no, not even I Know It! ), and probably her most influential album. I think it's one of the very best dance albums of all time.

Lord, there was a whole thread here once about people not believing that anyone ever thought her to be black.

Isnt Madonna from Detroit? That explains her being too tuff. She was really hungry to make it and that attitude can through very easily on her first record.

The remastered version: yowza. These synths sound so much stronger than her 80's tinny frail-sounding productions. Go head Jellybean.

Stephan Bray followed her to NY from MI. and was in a few of her early bands and help record the demos that got her her deal. You CANNOT use the name of God, or religion, to justify acts of violence, to hurt, to hate, to discriminate- Madonna
