Songs You Always Hear People Sing Off Key

You know what I mean. The songs that people THINK they can sing really well, but in reality end up massacring beyond recognition. The kinds of songs that even William Hung won't touch. It seems that there are always the same few songs that I hear people butcher, whether at auditions or talent shows or even when people are singing along to the Muzak in the grocery. Here are the two biggest offenders I can think of:

"The Greatest Love of All" by Whitney Houston

"I Can't Fight This Feeling" by REO Speedwagon

If you're singing either of these songs in public and you think you're doing a good job, chances are you probably aren't. Do yourself a favor. Stop.

2 songs come to my mind:

"Fallin" by Alicia Keys
"I Will Always Love You" by Whitney Houston

Those songs should automatically be banned from any and every talent contest in the country and the world.
I'm not a fan of "old Prince". I'm not a fan of "new Prince". I'm just a fan of Prince. Simple as that

The trick they say is to begin singing it in a lower register/lower key at least. People usually end up singing it in a higher key that makes it harder for them as the song progresses. Star Spangled Banner As Well.

the coda of Purple Rain at every Prince concert I've been to. it's quite charming, especially at the part when he stops the music and let's the crowd sing the "oooh hooo hooos" without him lol

When I heard Madonna sing Imagine on the Tsumani relief night, she was so off key I had to shudder. It was awful and I hope she listened to herself after and made a vow to never attempt that great song again.
