DrownedMadonna insiders reported about the "Ballads collection" story that's been floating around the net which actually came from talks last year before the re-Invention tour started. WB is always presenting Madonna with ideas for compilation albums - most of the time she rejects.

They presented her an idea about have a 2 disc set, one of her best ballads and one of her best remixes. She rejected the idea and said if she were to do that it would be two separate releases. Of course neither one has happened yet.

Now WB says a new album will be out before any compilation.

Warner can be fucking stupid trying to squeeze every last cent they can by making so many reissues of artists' previous work. Luckily Madonna doesn't give in.

Madonna hates the idea of compilations.That's why she didn't have anything to do with 'GHV2'....that was strictly Warner's idea.They also want to release a multi-disc box set,but Madonna isn't cooperating.

I guess this is one more thing that Maddy has in common with Prince.They both seem to care only about their new music.

For some reason I just dont believe that a new album is any where near finished. Shes been working on her tour documentary for the latter months of 2004, and after complaining that she doesnt have time to be creative, I cant see her having finished an album already.Shes averaging an album avery 2 and a half to 3 years now, and its barely 2 years since American Life. Its a nice thought, but I just think we;ve not heard enough decent rumours for it to be true.
Also if they're planning on releasing the tour/documentary on DVD at Christmas, I cant see an album appearing before this as it would surely distract attention from this release.

my guess is a new song, possibly a remix compilation, the tour doc and the live DVD this year at most (not that Im complaining at that). new album spring 2006 would be my guess.....I hope Im proved wrong though!
