ELTON JOHN

I just recently found the beauty in elton john's music. his new album peachtree road, got me to go back and buy all of his earlier music, all 43 albums. if u all aren't hip to elton, get the albums from the 70's. standouts like caribou, goodbye yellow brick road, honkey chateau, elton john, and captain fantastic and the brown dirt cowboy, will have u rocking your asses off.

blue moves with haunting tunes like "tonight" and "sorry seems to be the hardest word" will move u like nothing u have ever heard before.

then at the 80's u need 2 low for zero, ice on fire, and 21 at 33. songs like satorial eloquence, and white powder/white lady will definitely touch u.

jump up! rare as hell and hard to find, will hip u to empty garden, a tribute track to john lennon, and if that don't bring tears, u are made of stone.

get into the 90's and u have to get "the one" and "songs from the west coast"

and in 2004, u have to check out peachtree road. where some albums by our Prince sometimes falter, elton has very few and far between. his artistic piano mastery with taupin's lyrics make u say DAYUM. now if that didn't get your elton groove on, check out the dream ticket from best buy. it doesn't get much better than that. 4 dvd's and over 7 hours of jaw dropping performances.

kids if u ain't hip to ej u need to go back to school.

Elton just might be the king. and once u check out these gems, u will agree.

Yes, he is great. In addition to your list, I would also highly recommend 1975's "Rock of the Westies", 1989's "Sleeping with the Past", and 1995's "Made in England".

He has many great albums.

Blue Moves might be favorite....

Elton is very talented, and it's a shame that he squandered his success and gifts on such crap for so long there in the middle. glad, with the last 2, that he's getting back to basics and what he excels at.

george michael could "kiss" his "gay" ass any day . Elton wasn't the one caught in a public bathroom playing with himself. but all that personal shit behind, Elton is the most prolific artist out there. His consistancy of doing just what the fuck he wants to do, is much more than Prince's. Elton also, never had Larry Graham or any thing like him, come in and fuck up his whole personna. Elton, didn't promise to put out more material when he left his major label, and then drop albums here and there. Elton didn't write "may u live to see the dawn" on every liner note on every album, and then convert to a jw, and become "holier than thou" and release good albums, but not great albums.

Very true.
He kinda pisses me off with his anti-Madonna comments, but at least he speaks his mind with no second thoughts.
Elton is just Elton and for that total respect is earned.

Oh stop it rolleyes

I'm a huge fan of Elton's 70s work, but let's not pretend that he is a saint. In recent years,he has turned into an old, bitter, bitchy drama queen, releasing forgettable adult-contemporary albums and lame Disney movie themes.Yes,Prince has made some questionable career moves, but so has Elton.

he is a genius and has made no more questionable career choices than Prince.

if u listen, i mean Listen(not just play and hate) to AT LEAST his last 2 albums,

songs from the west coast, and peachtree road, u will see that elton hasn't missed a beat, and still has it. he may have an attitude, but after 30 or 40 years of hits, u can have some 'tude and folks are gonna have to deal with it.

P has a lot of tude and thinks his shit don't stink. tho a christia...i mean a jw, he thinks he is above and beyond the scope of a regular person. sure he preaches love for one another, but how many times has P signed an autograph, or come tried to greet a fan with anything but 'tude. P is a diva in everysince of the word. i have been following Prince since i was 5 back in 1980. i have been loosely following elton since the 90's but i have every album, and over 30 live dvd's from elton's career and if u see this man live, u will no longer think that Prince is the only one who can hold it down.

and if u hate on elton... go buy "who is mike jones" and listen to cd 2. or the day all hell broke loose vol. 2 or mike jones runnin the game, king of the streets or major without a major deal, it may be more your style, cos chopped and screwed hip hop is definitely something that is changing the game. dj michael watts and paul wall, mike jones, magno, and slim thug, are the new kings of the south. www.swishahouse.biz check it out.

i got into Elton very recently after checking out his last two albums. Elton has been giving a lot of props to Ryan Adams lately whos one of my favourite artists and whose Heartbreaker album apparently inspired elton to record Songs From The West Coast, and so after checking out those two albums I dsicovered an artist who is very much alive and not living on past glories. The folk and blues tinged elements of these albums really made me look at elton completely differently to the man who sang the theme to the lion king.

Discovering his 70's work has been one of those joyous periods for me that I would equate to the times when Ive discovered Prince's, Stevie Wonders and Bowies back catalogues and develop true appreciations for them. Elton is an artist in the truest sense of the word A great singer, songwriter and an excellent musician & performer. He loves playing his music for people and his criticisms of lip synching, whilst undfair being levelled at Madonna, were echoing a sentiment we all agree with. In fact one of the things I love about Elton is the way he says exactly what hes thinking.

I cant listen to songs like Mona Lisas and Mad Hatters without being totally mesmorised by its beauty. This is a man whose stature is exemplified by the quality of artists who've worked with and covered eltons work. He pisses allo over todays artists in that he his talented as I stated above and he has a fucking point of view. He may be bitchy a lot of the time and throw tantrums, but at least hes keeping it real. If only some of todays acts were half as colourful as elton, the music industry wouldnt be falling on its arse as it is.

See, there's more obvious chocies to attack like Britney and Ashlee Simpson. But Elton has a love/hate relationship with Madonna.
He was frantic about getting his picture taken with her at the Brit awards in 95.
And he also attended her Drowned World Tour and exclaimed how it was "brilliant."

Then 2002 comes around and he starts dissing her Bond tune which was fine, but then starts saying how she lip synchs her shows, which only people who have actually seen the show would know was untrue.

elton will do things just to piss the critics off, so if he called madonna a lip syncer then got on stage with her... too fucking bad!!!

prince contradicts himself with almost every word that comes out of his mouth these days.

wha wha wha.... elton could probably kick prince's ass on stage if it came down to it.
