I enjoyed a lot of the tracks on the "Love's Alright" album. The title track has a very "Prince-like" sound which I really enjoyed. I also enjoyed the song "I Was A King", the house type track "One", and the remake of "Hey Joe". "Whahzupwithu" and the opening track of the album (I can't think of the name of it....the one with all the guest artists) was absolutely horrible. The other tracks were decent.

I liked all these tracks and the song Desdamona.

Hey, u heard "flower child"? What the hell was Eddie thinking?

"one" is cool. I like the bridge, the:-

"2 people found love, the purest love, the perfect love....." bit is great

I like the note form that the lyrics are presented in. Seems Eddie wrote all the lyrics.

Kylie looks like a horse. 'Nuff said

This is about looks? Ok, well, Kylie's the international superstar after 20 years and Hammer's cleaning pools somewhere.

Eddie was a reasonable singer. He can stay within his limited range and of course has good adlibs (check "put ur mouth on me") so he is a cut above ur average singer.

Off each of his 3 albums "how could it be" (1985) "so happy" (1989) "loves alright" (1992), there are at least a few really good pop songs. He was more then a novalty act.

"party all the time" "put your mouth on me" "so happy" "tonight" (produced by Larry Blackmon- really good rnb slowjam) "one" "wahtzupwitu" "I was a king" "always is love"

"don't give up on love", off 1992's "loves alright" is is a first rate quiet storm ballad. Reminds me of Al Jarreau. Maybe if they kept his name anonymous it would of got momentum on radio stations.

By 1992's "loves alright", u get the feeling he really had found love. Compare it to 1989's "so happy" album. That album reflects his attitude towards women on tracks like "'till the moneys gone" "love moans" etc.....his attutude has changed.

So infact u get an artist as Eddie has grown between the 2 albums. Something I did not notice before.

If it had been just a normal singer, he would of been bigger then Eddie was. But as Eddie was already famous, his music got hampered by haters etc.....all 3 of his albums are good. Not great, but all have some steller cuts.

Was "whatzupwitu" a big hit?

Before Eddie started his singing gig, I remember his first comedy album. Perhaps some of the fellow orgers may remember this one if there old enough. He had a song Boogie In Your Butt booty!

That thread kinda died a fast death once some overly-sensitive people who don't get our relationship started taking it seriously and posted epic passages about how we must respect musical taste blah blah blah. WTF was up with that? lol I swear, some people need A Cause.

Hey thanx Marrk. I never bought the single. Was this on the single? Infact did the single even chart in the UK? U can hear the vocals more clearly on the remix.

"always is the mountains"
"always is the tree's".....(Mj nails that line and the "always i the sea's" line too.....)

I don't have any answers, this is as new to me as it is to you. Just found it surfing around. If you go to the site itself http://www.vansanten.us there's a couple of decent megamixes and other stuff.

It's funny how Eddie ended up singing in the voice that he mocked others who sang high with ( MJ ). And whoever said Eddie doing music was NOT a novlety act hahahahaa! I'm sure Eddie was serious as all get out but it was still laughable. Back then I would not even attempt tp purchase any of this crap but now I want the releases for for posterity's sake and memories.

Oh boy that video for How Can It Be?!! Eddie at the piano! LOL!

"so, who's gonna get the house?"

And later ones playing footsies with Michael damn near

Yet again, if we both did a survey on the street and said "who u prefer, Hammer or Kyle Minogue". Kylie would lose. People only know one hammer song, but he'd still win.

Of course, the Hammer song they would know is actually a Rick James song, but oh well.

As for doing a survey on the street, how does that give it validity? The majority often likes crap, and it varies from place to place anyway. If you go down the streets of Mexico, they would tell you that Selena kicks both their asses. Its all relative.

disbelief man, he wasn't even a good rapper. he was a decent dancer, and that's about it (even that was marred by those stupid Alladin pants).
