It feels good to let NEW music into my life beside Prince

music used to be a major part of my life especially in the 80's but since i'd say around 1994 when Nirvana and the whole Grunge thing hit it big i got fed up & TOTALLY stopped listening to anything new EXCEPT for Prince of course & just listened 80's music...so finally after 11 years of not getting into anything i must say it feels real good to be getting into these new bands such as The Killers,My Chemical Romance,Interpol,The Used,Keane...etc. i really missed looking forward to new stuff from different bands like i do now!..
Check it out ...Shiny Toy Guns R gonna blowup VERY soon and bring melody back to music..you heard it here 1st! http://www.myspacecomment...theone.mp3

Prince is always great, but indeed one should listen to all sorts of music.
There are so many great artists to discover

That's shameful

you go dig out that SOTT album and don't come back till you've refreshed your memory mad

It IS a shame. I wish Prince could make an album only half as good as SOTT to hold my attention for longer than a week or two. Probably not though.

i'll keep wishing.

But i'm not interested in Prince's former sex life with Carmen Electra or how small his weenie is. The quality of threads in there is shocking, not to mention boring and repetitive.

I did just listen to United States of Division by accident. Still crap.

I've put Parade on to remind me of why i like him. Won't be turning that off. music

Actually I lied. I listened to "Around The World in a Day" last week. But that was the first Prince I've listened to in a LONG time. biggrin

i listen to a lot of prince, but that's probably because i'm rediscovering all the old and stuff and wishing I was old enough to go to those concerts back then. I say pick up Parade. A lot of people (including prince) don't realize what a great album it is. seriously, one of the best.

I know the words to virtually every Prince song that is commercially available. I dont listen to Prince very often right now. I listen to all kinds of music and always have. Im getting into some Latin (salsa, merengue) stuff right now. That should keep me busy for a long time. wink

I bought The Bravery CD last week. That is extremely 80s--like The Killers, Interpol, The Faint, etc.

I used to be like that before I joined the org last year. Then all that Prince talk on the other board got me back into his music. I listen to Prince more now than ever.

Same here, except with me, it was around 1996 and midtempo hip hop drove me away from mainstream. I had been fed up mainstream since 1990 but I had underground house to keep me going but then it had to go and change to acid and techno house, which is too fast (I never thought I'd hear myself say those words) and repetitive.

I pulled my old records and CDs and said the hell with new music. I still haven't heard anything new that I like though. Hell, I've even started buying music from the 1960s because I'm running out of stuff to buy from the 1970s and 1980s.

'82-'88, can't fault him. Since then he's been very hit and miss for me. Still love The Truth, tho'. The last great album he did, imo.
