New Backstreet Boys single

Alarm clock is set to VIBE 98.5 here in Calgary. I woke up to get ready for my nightshift to the sounds of the "Hot 6 @ 6".

#6 on the countdown was the new Backstreet Boys single and the entire song riffs off a 1989 Canadian hit (same chord progression and piano melody). I don't know if it's a sample of flat out rip-off.

"All The Things I Wasn't" by The Grapes Of Wrath.

If you're talking about "Incomplete", it doesn't sound a thing like "All The Things I Wasn't".

What've you been smoking? hmm

Feel free, man. I just listened to them back to back, and I don't see it. shrug

Well, given I heard it once for the first time as I was sleeping, but to me there was a main riff that BSB kept returning to that sounded like the instrumental hook on Grapes Of Wrath

hmmm

There could be a similarity or a sample in there somewhere, but if there is it's blended in pretty seamlessly, IMO.

"All The Things I Wasn't" by The Grapes Of Wrath.

The changes are very common. It's how they're played that's similar.
Doesn't seem to be inspired by the Wrath song.

It does remind me of that Heather Headley song...the phrasing (Sominex version).
Well until that part before the hook...then it becomes Richard Marx.

"Incomplete" is so completely Karate Kid soundtrack ready.
Maybe Part XIV is in the making. Yikes.

I'm thinking that's closer to where Lou Pearlman got the name for the group than any "Backstreet Market" *giggle snort* in Orlando.

Know what's fun to do, as a BSB fan who's actually got a grip on reality? Watching old interviews just to listen to the scripted bullshit that falls out of their mouths -especially on days when they didn't even bother pretending to take themselves seriously. lol

Either they don't do it as much anymore, or they've gotten better at lying through their teeth.

Never heard of that other band. Can't compare.

I just downloaded Incomplete, and as a fan, it feels like finally going home. God, I've missed them. Meanwhile I needed good music to keep my life meaningful, and found both Prince and Lenny Kravitz, so thanks to their absence I now have three favourite artists/bands, but it feels so good to hear this again. They were my first love and I couldn't be happier.
