There are various accounts of who her real parents is but we are pretty sure she is the biological daughter of one of the Ecavado's....possibly the daughter, or aunt, of Miss Shelia E but more likely she is the daughter of her brother Pete. Either way, Lionel did adopt her. Not sure but maybe she is in fact part African American. I thought she was only cauasin but people who have watched the show with me beg to differ.
