Classy Babyface ballads appreciation thread.

He's done some great work with MJ and Madonna. I love tracks like Why, Love Tried To Welcome Me, Take A Bow, You Are My Life... very classy, timeless productions...

I bought "The Day" a while back for £1... never listened to it... shall have to try and dig it out...

Yeah all great tunes. Good to dee Psykosoul knows after 7 (amonst many others.) They were so underated and alot better then boyz to men
.

U have all listed my favs. BUT NO BOBBY BROWN? "roni" is a classic. Easily as classic as "whip appeal". Oddly Babyface dis not help write "rock wit'cha". Plus good hidden gem on Jermiane Jacksons Laface album called "don't you deserve someone".

Plus "good enough" by Bobby Brown is midtempo but Iam including it. Same with the steller Bobby track "pretty little girl".

Infact, Babyface did some good uptempo's. People shouldn't forget "it's no crime" "tender lover" (my boys troop on backing) plus uptempos for other artists too (like Jermaine Jackosns steller "you said, you said" and Pebbles "giving u the benefit".)

i love "i's no crime" and "tender lover". Those represent newjack at it's best.

I just checked and he did not help co-write Roni.....again I just assumed he did. "ho of my own" by highland place mobsters is also a good cut.

I never liked "end of the road" or "i'll make love to u". I like Jam and Lewis' "on bended knee" though.

"Breathe Again" is one my favorites.I love how Toni Braxton's first album opens with three heartbreak songs in a row...

"Another Sad Love Song"
"Breathe Again"
"Seven Whole Days"

It's as if they decided "let's deal with the drama first and get it out the way" "lol:
