The Greatest Guitar Solo's Ever? I started listening to some Hendrix and man I just amazed on how much better he still is than everyone else, years after his passing!!! He most def. has many of the greatest guitar licks and solos ever. I'm asking all org members to share there thoughts on the best guitar solo's ever. Below is a few of my favs!!!

Yeah, Jimi's the man fo sho', BUT, there are some pretty great guitar solos outside of his oeuvre too.

A gat solo I love which is a bit less obvious is the jazzy one on Stevie Wonder's "Superwoman" it's on the "Where were you when I needed you" section of the song. It's not drawn out and spectacular but it just comes in brilliantly anybody else know what I'm talkin bout?!! I'm not sure who plays it? Peace! I was reading an article this week about the making of Let It Bleed. One of the producer/engineer types (I forget which) says he remembers Mick Taylor and Keith Richards' "dualling twin guitar" on this intro, so maybe it was both of them. Either way, it has to be my favourite song intro of all time. Haunting stuff! | |

That's the whole point. Not letting one's ego to list a slew of "played" instruments get in the way of hiring the best player for the job. This is why this infatuation with "multi-instrumentalists" in some threads is so baffling to me. It's one thing to be able to plunk out a few notes on a instrument well enough to record a part. It's a totally different ballgame to be able to play an instrument well enough to do an entire live gig. That's the benchmark for me as to whether one can competently claim that instrument in their "multi-instrument" arsenal. tA Tribal Disorder
